This lab was designed to test how the intensity, or the amount of light waves hitting the plant used in our experiment, affected its rate of photosynthesis. Acknowledging that photosynthesis requires light to operate, we designed this experiment to determine how the amount of light available affected the rate at which photosynthesis occurred. Prior to this experiment, I predicted that up to a certain point, more light would increase the rate of photosynthesis, whereas after that point, it would only damage the plant, decreasing the rate, but thought that we wouldn’t be producing that much light using our 100-watt bulbs in this experiment. |

El Sauce is a municipality in the La Unión department of El Salvador.
