Gene Ween is a pseudonym for Aaron Freeman, who was born on March 17, 1970 in New Hope, Pennsylvania. He is guitarist and vocalist for the eclectic alternative rock group Ween, alongside his longtime friend, Dean Ween. The two met in an eighth grade typing class in 1984, in New Hope, where they both grew up. He married Sarah Poten in 1999, and divorced in 2003. He has one child from his marriage, and one child with his current girlfriend, Leah Ben Ari.
