:University of Maryland, College Park and University of Maryland, Baltimore both have a comma. None of University of Maryland Baltimore County, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, nor University of Maryland University College have a comma. I've posted this like a zillion times. The most current version of the Maryland law establishing the University System of Maryland (from 2004) is my source. It is incorrect for UMBC to use a comma. -[[User:Howardjp|Howardjp]] 23:03, 13 May 2005 (UTC) |

I announced this change almost two weeks before making it at [[Talk:University of Maryland, College Park#Dumb redirect]] and nobody complained then. Comma or no comma
Looking through this page's history, I've noticed a couple of edits removing the comma from the names of both the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I'm not sure about UMES (although it would make sense for it to be consistent with the others) but UMBC does in fact use a comma in it's name (check the address near the bottom of UMBC's home page), the comma is also used on the main page for the Blackboard Learning System at UMBC (which requires login). I won't change it now, just in case those are both mistakes, although it seems unlikely.-Jeff 19:25, 13 May 2005 (UTC)

Redirect target
I announced this change almost two weeks before making it at Talk:University of Maryland, College Park#Dumb redirect and nobody complained then. Over the past several months, I've cleaned up some 300 pages that linked to the wrong place because of this bad redirect. Putting that redirect back in will only bring more more false information into Wikipedia. -Howardjp 13:40, 25 August 2005 (UTC)
