BIJROL A village in district Baghpat of Uttarpradesh (India). A village known for its bravery & heroism, giving birth to several freedom fighters. Having a population of more than eleven thousand this village is exactly 6 km from the center of Baraut the sub district of Baghpat.the geographical location of this place is 29°7'28"N 77°18'53"E. A beautiful place to visit having one of the Ashoka Pillar.
A village that give birth to heroes like Baba Shahmal Tomar.
Baba Shah Mal was a great freedom fighter who fought against British. His role in the freedom movement of 1857 is nonparallel. The farmers of the area had suffered from over-taxation by the British in the months before the uprising of first freedom movement in 1857. Shah Mal put together a combined force of Tat and Gujjar farmers. His army attacked and plundered the tahsil of Barout and the bazaar at Baghpat.Within a short period he took hold of 84 villages of Tomar Desh Khap. During the revolution of 1857, he made his headquarters at bungalow of Irrigation Department on Yanuna River and controlled his operations from there. The British army could not face the army of Shahmal. Graves of British Soldiers and Officers killed on 30th and 31st may, 1857 can be seen today at the Meerut Road Crossing near Hindon River.The British officer Dunlap could escape very marginally in a war with army of Shahmal in July 1857. Unfortunately the turban of Shahmal got entangled with legs of his horse. En English officer named Parkar who new Shahmal took advantage of this situation. He not only killed Shahmal but also cut his body to pieces and chopped his head off. The British army hanged the head of Shahmal on a jawline to terrify the public on 21 July 1857.
This Big village is mostly inhabited by farmers, most of the population consist of Jats, Brahmans & Muslims being the minority.

Bijrol is located at 29°42′N 77°11′E / 29.7°N 77.18°E. It has an average elevation of 230 metres (754 ft).
Demographics
As of 2001 India census[1], Bijrol had a population of 15002 estimated in late 2006. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Bijrol has an average literacy rate of 61%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 60% of the males and 42% of females literate. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age. The village Baraut is one of the biggest village in India. The main business activity is farming.
Culture
Bijrol is a multi-religious place with many Hindu Temples and Mosques around. There are 15 Temples & 9 Mosques around this region. One of the biggest temple in this area is known as Khada (Mandir). It is very famous and holds big importance here. It is worth seeing & cannot be described in words.
Another important place in the village is the Bhumia Dev of this region situated in the center of the village, people visit here before start doing any new /holy works.
Another big Hindu temple in on the edge of the village Devi maa temple, on the main road passing through the village.

Economy
Bijrol have agriculture as its mainstay. Area is fertile being close to the river Yamuna/Jamuna. Main crops appear to be wheat, sugarcane and mustard. In fruits mangoes and guavas are grown and Grapes too. Watermelons, muskmelons and 'kakri' make their appearance during summers.
