"The word has a long and varied history." I took this out, but would be happy to see it re-inserted if someone can supply some evidence for it. It seems to me that Asia ia a European concept and that pan-asianism was very much influenced by german romantic thinking - an element I intend to work into the article. Like Pan-Africanism, although this can be traced back to the late eighteenth century amongst Africans of the diaspora, it became fomalised as Pan-Africanism precisely by people influenced by German historiography. Need to distinguish between pre-war Pan-Asianism and Modern Pan-Asianism
I strongly feel that the title of this article would be misleading to those whom do not know this topic in detail. It seems that most of this article is dedicated to pre-World War II ideas of Japanese Pan Asianism, the concept of アジア主義. The problem is, this topic now also refers to modern concepts such as ASEAN and East Asian economic ties, and therefore I am wondering whether a re-direct or re-naming of the page would be appropriate, or a further expansion on the topic to provide modern and historic perspectives. Anyone have opinions?--Moki80 (talk) 03:52, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
