Zen Internet is an Internet Service Provider (ISP) based in Rochdale in the UK.

History

Richard Tang

Founded in 1995 by Managing Director Richard Tang (left), Zen Internet was one of the first Internet Service Providers in the UK. The inspiration for Zen Internet came as Richard chatted to his brother over a drink in a pub. The pair agreed that the Internet was going to be a hit and from there Richard started the enterprise providing Internet access to schools and small businesses in the Rochdale area.

Zen is now a highly respected and successful ISP, winner of 'Internet Provider of the Year' (Internet Magazine) and 'Best Internet Provider' (Comdex) national awards for consistently high quality service, as well as regional awards for business success. The company, which turned over £7.8 million in 2003, now provides a full range of high quality services to Internet users from the latest in high speed DSL broadband Internet access and complete hosting packages to state of the art Web site design and e-commerce solutions. Their mission is to provide the best ISP service in the UK.

The trophy cabinet at Zen has had some impressive new additions: a place in the top 50 of The Sunday Times Tech Track 100 that lists Britain's most dynamic unquoted companies, and a top ten place in Deloitte & Touche's annual Technology Fast 50 Awards.
