Claude Lemieux (born July 16, 1965 in Gatineau, Quebec) is a Canadian hockey player. He played for the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, Colorado Avalanche, Phoenix Coyotes, and Dallas Stars in the NHL from 1983 to 2003. He earned a status as one of the league's most hated players after he checked Kris Draper into the boards in a playoff series between the Colorado Avalanche and the Detroit Red Wings, starting a feud between the two teams that continues to this day. He also won 4 Stanley Cups, with the Canadiens in 1986, the Devils in 1995 and 2000, and the Avalanche in 1996. He was always considered to have better performances in the playoffs than the regular season, and won the Conn Smythe Trophy for the Devils in 1995. He is now the president of the Phoenix Roadrunners.
