U-KISS

U-KISS, (Template:Lang-ko) an acronym for Ubiquitous Korean International Idol Super Star, is a 7-member South Korean boy band under NH Media. They debuted in 2008 with their single entitled "어리지 않아" ("Not Young") The group is composed of 7 boys, two of whom were former members of group, Xing.

History

Pre-debut

U-KISS gained attention due to two former members of Xing (Kevin Woo and Kim Ki Bum) and popular South Korean boy band SS501's Kim Hyung Joon's brother being members of the group. Soohyun also drew attention to the group by being a former JYP trainee and Good Entertainment trainee.

2008-2009: Debut and new member

U-KISS released its first mini album, New Generation, on September 3, 2008. The group debuted in Japan on the 15th of August at the Power of Atamix alongside SS501 & Paran. Later in the month, the group debuted on South Korean television, with a performance of "Not Young" on M! Countdown.

In January, three English speaking members of the group, Eli, Alexander & Kevin, joined Arirang's radio show Pops in Seoul hosting the 'All About You' segment alongside co-host Isak[citation needed]. The group made their comeback with their second mini album Bring it back 2 Old School on February. In April, Eli became the MC of MBC's show, Fusion.[citation needed]

Afterwards, the group commenced promotional activities in China on June, appearing on Hunan TV. In addition, they held various fan meetings in Thailand from October to November. After the announcement of seventh member, Lee Ki Seob, U-KISS released their third mini album, "Conti Ukiss" on November 5. On the day of release, They performed their title song, "만만하니" ("Man Man Ha Ni") on M!Countdown.

2010: Only One

The group released their first studio album, Only One, on February 3, 2010. U-KISS started promotions on KBS's Music Bank with their lead single "Bingeul Bingeul" (Template:Lang-ko, lit "Round and Round") on February 5.


In March 2010, U-KISS was in the Philippines to promote their album, Only One. They had their mall tours to meet their fans. They even signed their albums.They already announced that U-KISS will come back to the Philippines to hold a concert on May 29, 2010.

Alexander (알렉산더)

He was born in Hong Kong and was raised in Macau.

Soo Hyun (수현)

  • Date of birth: (1989-03-11) March 11, 1989 (age 35)

Soo Hyun was formerly a trainee of Good Entertainment and JYP Entertainment.

Ki Bum (기범)

  • Full Name: Kim Ki Bum (김기범)
  • Date of birth: (1990-12-29) December 29, 1990 (age 33)

He is the younger brother of SS501's Kim Hyung Joon, and a former member of Xing. He also went to study abroad in Australia .

Ki Seop (기섭)

  • Full Name: Lee Ki Seop (이기섭)
  • Date of birth: (1991-01-17) January 17, 1991 (age 33)

Lee Ki Seop joined the group in 2009. He is a former ulzzang, and has appeared on the second season of Uljjang Shidae.

Eli (일라이)

  • Korean Name: Kim Kyoung Jae (김경재)
  • Date of birth: (1991-03-13) March 13, 1991 (age 33)

Eli was born in Los Angeles, and moved to Washington DC at a young age. He also moved to Beijing at the age of 15 to study for 3 years, hence his fluency in both Mandarin & English. He learned Kung Fu and Taekwondo for 12 years.

Kevin (케빈)

  • Korean Name: Woo Sung Hyun (우성현)
  • Date of birth: (1991-11-25) November 25, 1991 (age 33)

Lived in San Francisco, Danville, California and is fluent in English. Along with Kibum, he is also a former member of Xing.

Dong Ho (동호)

  • Full name: Shin Dong Ho (신동호)
  • Date of birth: (1994-06-29) June 29, 1994 (age 30)
  • Height:178cm
  • Weight:60Kg

Spent most of his childhood in China, and is fluent in Mandarin.
