Hebbur is a village in the southern state of Karnataka, India.[1][2] It is located in the Tumkur taluk of Tumkur district in Karnataka.
The town is famous for Sri Kamakshi Sharada Mutt, with the goddess Kamakshi Sharada being the presiding deity.
This town was earlier called as 'Ghanapuri', possibly a Sanskrit name. The town had more than a 100 temples but most of them are in a bad shape now.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census, Hebbur had a population of 5951 with 3048 males and 2903 females.[1]
