Choaspes xanthopogon,[2][3] commonly known as the Similar Awlking,[4] is a butterfly belonging to the family Hesperiidae.

Range

The Similar Awlking ranges in India along the Himalayas from Kashmir to Nepal, Sikkim and Assam) onto Myanmar and West China and possibly Borneo.[2]

Status

Rare.[5]

  4. ^ The common name Similar Awlking is that of taxon similis (vide Evans (1932)) which is not recognised as a valid species by Savela and by TOLWeb (ref its page on genus Choaspes). Taxon similis is now considered to be a synonym of taxon xanthopogon.
  5. ^ As per Evans,(Evans, W.H.(1932) The Identification of Indian Butterflies, ser no I 4.2, pp 320-321), the taxon similis is rare. Taxon similis is a synonym for xanthopogon, see previous notes.
