Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash 2010 is the third teen edition of Pinoy Big Brother. It began airing on the night of April 10, 2010 (PHT). This is the first Teen Edition to be held after a regular season instead of a Celebrity Edition due to the third regular season ending several weeks before the middle of March, the traditional time for the start of the summer season in the Philippines when Teen Editions are held. Toni Gonzaga, Bianca Gonzales and Mariel Rodriguez will reprise their roles as hosts of the show.

There were two sets of auditions for this edition. The first was held simultaneously with those of the third regular season from March to May 2009. As these auditions were held a year in advance, the age limit was lowered to 14-17, since they would be within the correct age limit of 15-18 once the edition starts. A second set of auditions was held in March 2010, this time with an advanced registration through SMS, the age limit for auditioning was 15-18. A total of around 50,000 auditioned, from which 16 were chosen to compete in the new Edition.

There are many reasons for the use of the word Clash in the title. Primarily, the use of the Two House concept last seen in Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up (the third regular season) is again being used.

Overview

Like the previous edition, Double Up, Teen Clash 2010 are using two houses, both summer vacation-themed with beach murals, hammocks, and other amenities. House A is called the Villa, to be inhabited by housemates who have simple backgrounds. In contrast, those who are well-to-do would live in House B, dubbed the Apartment.

Housemates

There are sixteen housemates. Fifteen entered the house on Day 1. The first seven housemates, who lived simple lives, were placed in the Villa (House A), while the remaining eight housemates, with affluent backgrounds or interests, inhabit the Apartment (House B). The ages of the housemates indicate their ages upon entry to the house.

A female teen who was supposed to enter the Villa as the 16th housemate was not yet cleared to participate due to medical reasons. In case she is not cleared by doctors and staff by Day 2, a male alternate would take her place. Either way, the 16th housemate would make his/her entrance on Day 2.
