Original Characters
- Fanboy (born:1999)is a 10 year old enthusiastic fan of fantasy and science fiction, who is the protagonist of the show. Fanboy wears a purple mask and gloves and a green superhero outfit similar to that of The Riddler's. He wants the "maximum" experience of everything that involves craziness. His best friend, Chum Chum, is always by his side. Voiced by David Hornsby.
- Chum Chum(born:2000) is Fanboy's best friend and sidekick who is the deuteragonist of the show. He Is 9 in-a-half Years Old. All Though he is significantly younger than the other main characters, he is still in the same class as them. The show's creator Eric Robles explained on the Nick Message Boards that this is because Fanboy snuck him into his class and the teacher never noticed the age difference. Like Fanboy, he has no super powers (except in the episode "Fanboyfriend", when he absorbed the radiation waves and had many super powers at the end of the episode.) He is easily excitable and overly hyper about most things. As a possible recurring gag, he has been seen to chase away a bird for pecking Fanboy's brain and slurping the two's smoothies, when he yelled "Shoo-shoo, dirty bird!" Another recurring gag is when Chum Chum and Fanboy always get a bad score on Boog's "Chimp Chomp" machine and being happy that they always lose the game. He wears an orange shirt with a logo of his face on it, yellow pants, cape, underwear on the outside of his clothes but he has a diaper on the inside of his clothes, and a black mask and gloves. Voiced by Nika Futterman. In the pilot from Random! Cartoons, he was voiced by Nancy Cartwright.
- Kyle (born:1997) is a 12 year old wizard. He is the only character with actual powers, other than his rival Sigmund the Sorcerer. He has a pessimistic attitude towards most things involving Fanboy and Chum Chum. He got expelled from wizard school due to turning his teacher into a raspberry flan ("delicious old fool" he called him) and has to go to a regular public school. Although he is the only character with true powers, Fanboy and Chum Chum believe that he's pretending, and therefore they do not believe that he truly has powers, brought to attention in the episode "Wizboy", with Kyle's debut appearance. After that, they seem quite aware, such as in "Excuse Me". He truly detests Fanboy and Chum Chum's lack of intelligence, but he is apparently capable of working with them in some cases. He wears a red and yellow striped shirt with jeans, converse, and a black cape. He has red hair and very large front teeth with braces and speaks in a British accent. In the episode, "Night Morning", Kyle has his nighttime headgear (which are incredibly large and even has a model train on it), and sleeps with a teddy bear. As a recurring gag he is often seen getting hurt in most episodes, usually as a result of one of Fanboy and Chum Chum's mishaps, such as being mauled when Fanboy's robot head is thrown over his, but never seems to be any worse for the wear. In "Cold War" it is revealed that Kyle has never had a best friend and Fanboy and Chum Chum were the only people who ever wanted to be his friends. He is the third main antagonist of the show. Voiced by Jamie Kennedy.
- Yo (born:1998)is Fanboy and Chum Chum's friend. She is 11 years old. Yo is a sweet, happy-go-lucky girl. She loves her digital pet Yamaguchi (a parody of Tamagotchi). She is one of the two tritagonists of the show (the other being Oz). She has a crush on Chum Chum. She is shown to be a talented prankster as she constantly pranked Fanboy on Prank Day. Her best friend is a pinecone named Ingrid. Voiced by Dyana Liu.
- The Oz(born:1989) Fanboy and Chum Chum think he is "the most knowledgeable human being ever". Yet in reality he is a nerd who still lives with his mother and mostly in episodes he says "seriously". He is one of the two tritagonists of the show (the other being Yo). He has a ponytail and beard and usually wears a black high collared leather jacket. Oz looks similar to Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons. He is 20 years old. Voiced by Josh Duhamel.
- Boog is a local bully and the gate keeper to the video games at Frosty's Mart. He is the main antagonist of the show. He once mentioned that he grew up in a plastic bubble (likely as a homage to John Travolta, who starred in 'The Boy in the Plastic Bubble'). Boog even talks like Travolta's character, Vinnie Barbarino, in Welcome Back, Kotter. He very much enjoys the "Chimp Chomp" video game (spending most of his time playing it rather than working) and threatening the boys into giving him their quarters. He is the main antagonist of the show. Voiced by Jeff Glen Bennett. He has a car named Sandy that got destroyed in "Refill Madness".
- Lenny is the junior manager of the Frosty Mart. His real name is Leonard. He finds Fanboy and Chum Chum irritating he sometimes calls them weirdoes or costumed goofballs. He sometimes gets a "stress twitch" when annoyed by Fanboy and Chum Chum (first seen in "Dollar Day"). He is the second main antagonist of the show. Voiced by Wyatt Cenac. In the pilot from Random! Cartoons, he was voiced by Dan Castellaneta.
- Hank Mufflin is the class teacher. His first name is Hank. He finds Fanboy and Chum Chum annoying and says if he has to hold them back another year, he's going to consider early retirement. He is somewhat senile and hates almost every aspect of his job, and he has a deep, groany Canadian dialect and a glass eye. He may be a parody of Ben Stein as for example in "The Janitor Strikes" Back when he was sent flying by the fully operational hand dryer, he does a bored scream. Voiced by Jeff Glen Bennett.
- Michael Johnson (born:1998) is a schoolmate in Fanboy and Chum Chum's class. He is 11 years old. Obviously a parody Michael Jackson as he has leather pants and shirt based on Michael Jackson's Thriller and a Billie Jean-esque hairstyle, yells in a high pitched voice saying "Hee Hee!", and was even once mistakenly called "Michael Jackson" by Fanboy in "Moppy Dearest". He has a major role in the episode "Fanboy and Chug Chug", and is also Chum Chums backup friend. He is possibly friends with Chris Chuggy and Kyle. Voiced by Wyatt Cenac in Season 1. Voiced by Seth Green in Season 2
- Chris Chuggy is a classmate of Fanboy and Chum Chum's. He may be tough like Lupe; He seems unable to form sentences or words, but only utters a "wah" sound as response. In the episode "Fanboy and Chug Chug" he saves Fanboy's life and they become new friends. He is obese with orange hair. He is friends with Michael Johnson and possibly with Yo. Voiced by Dee Bradley Baker.
- Janitor Russ "Propane" Poopatine, is a janitor, and as his title suggests, is the janitor at Fanboy and Chum Chum's school. A parody of Star Wars' Emperor Palpatine, in that he is a pale, skinny, gnarled old man in a dark hoodie (as opposed to Palpatine's robe). Several of his lines in his debut episode "The Janitor Strikes Back" (the title, of course a parody of The Empire Strikes Back) are direct parodies of lines spoken by Palpatine and Darth Vader. He rides around in a cart, named Brenda, which communicates by beeping in a manner to R2D2. Poopatine has a strong hatred of gum (and saltwater taffy), and tries to destroy Yum Yum, until it saves his life. In "The Janitor's Apprentice", it is shown that he has a trash collection (which was later destroyed by Fanboy). Voiced by Steve Tompkins. His nickname might be a parody of Strickland Propane.
- Scrivener Elf is an elf Kyle creates in 'The Janitor Strikes Back' to do his homework and other things. He is seen in other episodes writing notes for Kyle. He is purple and wears burlap clothes like people in the Middle Ages. He also has buck teeth and pointed ears. He is rather shiftless and is the closest thing to being one of Kyle's friends. Voiced by Jeff Glen Bennett.
- Lupe (born:1998) is a girl and one of Fanboy and Chum Chum's schoolmates. She is 11 years old. She once mentioned that she has an uncle who married a chicken and was as crazy as Chum Chum. She also mentioned that her aunt can lay eggs. In the episode "Fanboyfriend" she forms a crush on Fanboy when he squished a spider that was near her. She has also punched Kyle in the eye in "Wizboy", after he descended himself from levitation in her lunch. She has a Spanish accent and she is voiced by Candi Milo.
- Kyle"s Necronomicon is a talking book of spells who helps out Kyle sometimes. He appears in "Chicken Pox" and "Little Glop of Horrors". He is voiced by Jeff Glen Bennett.
- Chimp Chomp is a Donkey Kong parodying monkey who has his own video game and two movies based on his game.
- Duke (born:1997) is a schoolmate of Fanboy and Chum Chum's. he is 12 years old. He appeared in three episodes thus far. He has appeared in "The Janitor Strikes Back","Precious Pig" and "Night Morning". He also appears in many episodes. He is tall and wears a 5 on his shirt and has blonde hair. He is voiced by Jeff Glen Bennett.
- Precious is the class pig of Mr. Mufflin's class. He was obtained via a door-to-door pig salesman. Fanboy attempts to teach him martial arts. Even though he was only a one time Character, he also made a cameo in 2 brief scenes in "Night Morning", on the roof, howling like a wolf and playing a recorder flute. He also was in "Norse-ing Around" when Chum Chum was riding him like a horse for gold stars. Voiced by Dee Bradley Baker.
- Sigmund is Kyle's rival from Kyle's old school, Milkweed Academey. He appears in the episode "Sigmund the Sorcerer". He is Fanboy and Chum Chums's idol because he has his own magic show. He has white hair and a British school uniform and he wears it over a long leather jacket and fingerless gloves.
Other Characters
- Berry the Ice Monster is a small pink creature who lives inside the Frosty Freezy Freeze machine at the Frosty Mart. He creates Frosty Freezy Freeze with his ice breath. In "Berry Sick", he becomes ill and is unable to produce any more Frosty Freezy Freeze. Fanboy and Chum Chum kidnap him and pretend to be doctors attempting to cure him, when in actuality, they want to keep him so that they can have Frosty Freezy Freeze. He also appeared in the 8-minute pilot, though in this appearance he was rather large and more monstrous and had no feet, and was created from the combination of Frosty Freezy Freeze, and Ice-Monster Candy. He is voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson.
- Yo's Yamagauthi Pets [Scampers Is One Of Them] Are Digital Fanboy Did Not Notice.
- Count Dr. Acula is a vampire plastic surgeon who gave Chum Chum a neck when Fanboy believed he was vampire. Chum Chum wanted to be his immortal companion upon learning vampires are not mortal. Chum Chum wanted to have a neck so Fanboy would bite him and he could be immortal as well. At the end of the episode, Dr. Acula bites Fanboy a second time (having unknowingly bitten him some time in the beginning of the episode) and Fanboy becomes a vampire. He then bites Chum Chum and he becomes a vampire as well. Dr. Acula, gaining Fanboy's irritating personality, felt the urge to play video games and drink Frosty Freezy Freezes and was unable to control his flatulence. He resembles Dracula and is destroyed by the morning sun while trying to get back to his coffin, so far making him the only villain killed off in their series. Afterwards, Fanboy turns into "Fangboy" for real and bites Chum Chum's new neck turning him into a vampire as well. Then they walk into the Frosty Mart and bite Boog, likely turning him into a vampire. He is only seen in "Fangboy" due to his death and was voiced by Jeff Glen Bennett. He is almost a duplicate of Dr. Acula, a famous musical artist.
- Mist Monster is a hallucination that Boog has when he plays a video game for 2 1/2 days straight. He believes it is a monster but when he puts on glasses he realizes he was just hallucinating. At the end of the episode he is eaten by the real monster. He slightly resembles Chum Chum sitting atop Fanboy's head, as that was Boog's hallucination of them. Voiced by Jeff Glen Bennett.
- Monster under bed is a monster under Fanboy's bed that appears in 'Night Morning'. It is only seen for a brief second and only his tentacles are seen. He is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker
- The Dollarnator is a machine that appears in 'Dollar Day' that Fanboy invents in the future. He also is in Boog's car that he named "Sandy" in the episode "Refill Madness". It can make money and candy and is an obvious parody of The Terminator, which it has an German accent. He is built from broken video game systems, a microwave oven, and a restaurant grade hot dog steamer. He is voiced by Jeff Glen Bennett.
- Grandboy is Fanboy's grandfather. Although he is not seen, he is mentioned by Fanboy in the episode "I, Fanbot". He was probably the original Fanboy.
- Scampers is one of Yo's Yamaguchi pets. He is a digital cat who was supposed to be taken care of by Fanboy and Chum Chum over the weekend while Yo's cousin was at her house (Yo's cousin is allergic to cats, even though Scampers is digital). But his constant need for cupcakes angered Fanboy, who then overfed him and caused him to "power down"(which is the only way digital pets die.) The two then buried him in a graveyard that turns him into an evil zombie, which Fanboy and Chum Chum didn't realize when he returned, after which they began to play with him, which constantly led to his death (tossing him into the toilet, stepping on him, trying to hang a safe from the ceiling, etc.), and Fanboy and Chum Chum kept burying him over and over. Eventually Yo came and pointed out that the twosome had turned Scampers into an evil zombie. After which the three ran from him as he chased them (even though he was only about 3 inches tall), The Oz came in with a battle hammer and crushed him. Later Scampers mysteriously came back (even without being buried in the graveyard), only this time he was much much bigger. The Oz was too scared this time, but his mother conveniently walked in with a batch of cupcakes that calmed Scampers down, (but he still ate Chum Chum.) He is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker.
- Yum Yum is a cycloptic bubble gum creature created by Fanboy and Chum Chum. He is one of their best friends, and appears in the opening sequence. He is absent minded and voiced by John DiMaggio.
- Man-Arctica is an ice-themed superhero who loves milk and cookies (but not cookies and milk after getting sick the first time he tried them). His biggest fans are Fanboy, Chum Chum, and the Secret Shopper. He is a superhero parody of Santa Claus & comes on every Christmas Eve to deliver all gifts to good boys & girls, and he slightly resembles Batman and Iceman and he also appeared in Moppy Derrest. Voiced by Jeff Bennett.
- Fanman is a fictional superhero he is the hero that Fanboy is dressed up as. He appeared in the Random! Cartoons 8-minute short "Fanboy". His appearance is what Fanboy based his costume on, however, in the actual series, references to him appear to have been replaced with Man-Artica. His Arch-Enemy is a Large, Muscular Ice monster. He is voiced by Scott Grimes.
- Sprinkles is the class bear of Fanboy and Chum Chum. He was a cub before the series but is now an adult brown bear. He also appeared in 'Excuse Me' when Mr. Mufflin is tricked by Kyle, Fanboy, and Chum Chum into wrestling it by one of Scrivener Elf's notes he also appeared in Prank Master when he was attacking Fanboy as a prank from Chum chum and Yo. Voiced by Dee Bradley Baker.
- The Dramatic Chipmunk is a prairie dog that Fanboy tried to train. Its only appearance includes "Precious Pig".
- Stinks He was a stench that comes to life on Fanboy's right hand. He was mobster and mean. He has mushrooms for eyes and is similar to the puppets on Oobi.
- Thorvald The Red Was a viking that appeared in "Norse-ing Around" and broke out of an Ice pop while Fanboy and Chum Chum went fishing. He told them his story that he wanted to be brought to an ancient city in Sweden. In Mr. Mufflin's class, he led a battle against him for gold. He was brought to the Frosty Mart, and told the two that he needed to fight a dragon to head over to Valhalla (he was not able to get to Valhalla due to falling into an icy fjord). They brought him to a game, which let him be carried off to Valhalla. Voiced by Dee Bradley Baker.
- Muk Muk A female cousin of Chum Chum. She is like Chum Chum having a mask but has ponytails and a dress. She is from West Apetown. She is more physical than Chum Chum. She loves to eat and she always says Muk Muk.
- Crabulous: Destroyer of Worlds Is an action figure who is a crab. He has an exercise video "Crabulous: Destroyer of Flab", which is owned by Oz.
- Moppy A mop that was Fanboy's "girlfriend". She doesn't speak and people see her as a real person. Her only friends seem to be Yo and Lupe. Janitor Poopatine seems to admire her.
- Mrs. Cram A new strict lunch lady who replaces the other. She makes her food out of glops of meat or sauces usually calling it that. She doesn't let anyone out of the cafeteia until they clean their tray and doesn't allow anyone to throw away her food. She also appeared in "Refill Madness".
- Cheech Is a boy in Mr. Mufflin's class. He was the first person to say "Poop!" to Janitor Poopatine and has buck teeth. He makes several cameos in the show. He could be a parody of Cheech Marin.
- Nancy Pancy Is a girl nerd in Mr Mufflin's class and may be friends with Fanboy, Chum Chum, and Chris Chuggy. She also makes cameos in several episodes.
- Francine Is a diva in Mr. Mufflin's class. Fanboy thinks they're best friends, but she doesn't entirelly care. She appeared in Pick A Nose, Precious Pig, Fanboy Stinks, Moppy Dearest, and Night Morning.
- Fedora Man He appears in the Hard Sell where he bought a pickle jar. He wears a spring green tuxedo and a top hat and is voiced by Jeff Bennett.
- Cheer Is a cheerleader (or a group of them) in Mr. Mufflin's class. She makes cameos in some of the episodes and was special guest voiced in "Moppy Dearest" by an uncredited Kesha Sebert.
- Agent 08 Is a rare collectible octopus agent which Oz collected and bought. Its ink is very acidic. It shocked Fanboy and Chum-Chum many times and at one time almost blew them up.
- Cuppy Is a living Frosty Freezy Freeze cup which Fanboy and Chum-Chum have as a pet. Boog and Lenny tried many attempts to get it away from the boys before they discover it can be used for a free refill but fail.
- Cupzilla is a gigantic Frosty Freezy Freeze cup that Boog tried to trade to Fanboy and Chum Chum. Instead, Mr. Mufflin got the cup with Lenny still swimming on top of it. It is a parody of Godzilla.
- Ms. Olive Is a preschool teacher who appears in "Marsha Marsha Marsha." She also appeared as a French teacher named Madame LaVache in "Excuse Me" with a French accent.
- Marsha (born:1998) is a student who was in Fanboy's class until Fanboy sneezed on her test which made her get a bad grade and get sent back to kindergarten. She has only appeares in "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha". She seems to have changed because she was once very, very nice and sweet, but in the Marsha episode, she is shown to be hostile, but only to Fanboy, as she tells Chum Chum, "But it's really nice to see you, Chum Chum", because Chum Chum did not ruin her test and did not get her sent back to Kindergarten. That was Fanboy.
