Oslo City Artist Award is given to 4-5 artists every year since 1978. According to the statute the award is " bestowed upon those who had an excellent contribution in Oslo city's artistic realm". Award consist of a diploma and a cash prize. Distribution of the Oslo City Artist Award very often occur at the same time as the distribution of Oslo City Cultur Award which consist of bronze medal and a cash prize.
