I think it can be both. I've been trying to find out if he is Maltese or Italian too. Note how Michael Cammalleri spells his surname, all my Maltese relatives spell it Camilleri.

I think it can be both. I've been trying to find out if he is Maltese or Italian too. People in the U.S. (and perhaps Canada too) tend to mistake Maltese surnames for Italian (some think Malta is part of Italy--which is so 1500's).

Cammalleri

Isn't it a Maltese last name? This would make him Maltese, not Italian.
