What is AFL?

AFL is the Australian Football League. It is the premier league in the sport of Australian rules football. It was known as the Victorian Football League prior to 1990, and was renamed due to the expansion of several interstate clubs. Today, the Victorian Football League still exists as a lower level of competition to the AFL.

Lists

Requested Players

Players should be classified under categories such as Category:Hawthorn Football Club players, which are subcategories of Category:Australian Rules footballers. Feel free to add your own players under this listing.

In the entire history of the VFL/AFL competition, which began in 1897, there have been 19 different clubs to compete in the competition. In that time, there has been a total of 14,027 players to have represented one of these clubs (although note this is a combined total of all clubs' players, some players have represented more than one club). Wikipedia aims to document as many of these players as possible (a big task, although we don't expect players which there is not much information on to be represented).
