Yasmin Qureshi is a British Labour politician and criminal barrister, who was elected the Member of Parliament for Bolton South East at the May 2010 general election[1].

Qureshi was born in Pakistani and moved to the UK when she was nine[1]. She stood, unsuccessfully, for the London constituency of Brent East in 2005[1].

She and Shabana Mahmood, elected at the same time, are the United Kingdom's first female muslim MPs[1]. She has worked as a human rights advisor to the former London mayor Ken Livingstone[1] and previously headed the criminal legal section of the UN Mission in Kosovo[1].
