"Te Amo" (English: "I Love You") is a song performed by Barbadian singer Rihanna. It is written by Mikkel S. Eriksen, Tor Erik Hermansen, James Fauntleroy II and Rihanna and produced by Stargate. It serves as the third international and fifth overall single from her fourth album Rated R.[2][3][4]
Background and release
'Te Amo' has been confirmed by numorous sources for release on May 24, 2010 in the United Kingdom.[5][6] The song began playing on radio stations in the UK and France in mid April.[7]
Music video
The video was shot on April 29, 2010 and April 30, 2010 in Vigny, France[8] in the Château de Vigny. On the set, photos show Rihanna in a colourful floral maxi dress and a black lacy basque. French supermodel, Laetitia Casta plays a femme fatale in the video.[9].
Chart performance
In December 2009, Te Amo made its first chart appearance on the Swedish Singles Chart at number fifty-two shortly after, Rated R was released. On April 16, 2010, the song debuted on the UK Singles Chart at #94. It also appeared on the UK R&B Chart at #29. On May 2, 2010, the single reached a new peak of #51 on the singles chart and #16 on the R&B chart.
