2010 Run for Congress
James Lankford has stormed onto the Oklahoma political scene, gaining statewide attention in his bid for the 5th Congressional District nomination. Recently, Lankford received the endorsement of former Congressman JC Watts. JC Watts also joined James Lankford's campaign leadership team as a Co-chair. In his endorsement of Lankford, he made the following statement: “I personally believe this is the moment we must send someone to Congress who will represent the ideals and values of Oklahomans. James Lankford shares my Christian principles and my commitment and passion for reform in Congress. I am convinced James Lankford is cut from the same cloth as men like Tom Coburn and Jim DeMint. I trust James to go to Washington and work hard to restore wisdom, values and common sense to our government. His experience in the private sector as the director of Falls Creek (the largest Christian youth camp in America) proves he has the business leadership skills, work ethic and moral commitment needed for the task. He is uniquely qualified to lead during this critical season in our nation’s history. I am honored to endorse James Lankford in the 5th Congressional District. Please join me in supporting a fresh voice in a year when we desperately need fresh convictions concerning conservative perspectives." [2]
