Leckwith (Template:Lang-cy) is a district of western Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom. It is home to Cardiff City F.C.'s and Cardiff Blues' home ground Cardiff City Stadium, and to Fitzalan High School.
Etymology
Leckwith derives from the personal name Helygwydd and Lle meaning place: the place of Helygwydd. The identity of Helygwydd is not known, although it is believed he may be a Welsh warrior or saint.
Transport
Leckwith is directly accessed from the A4232 linking it to Culverhouse Cross, M4 J33 Cardiff West and Cardiff Bay. Cardiff Bus has its main depot in the area and operates services 12/13 eastbound to city centre and Tremorfa and westbound to Canton, Ely & Culverhouse Cross. The 1/2 Bay Circle route runs clockwise to Canton, Fairwater, Llandaff, Llandaff North, Gabalfa, Heath & Cathays and anticlockwise to Grangetown, Cardiff Bay, Central Stn, Splott, Tremorfa & Roath.
The area is served by Ninian Park railway station with services northbound to Radyr via Fairwater and southbound to Cardiff Central.
