Dave Matthews Band's discography includes independent, studio, and live albums. In addition to release on major labels, Dave Matthews Band also maintains the Bama Rags record label. There is a number of music videos and live concert videos released as well.

Live albums

While always encouraging fan recordings of concerts for personal enjoyment, the success of the band led to the illegal sale of such recordings. Such copies were often very expensive and of very low-quality. To meet the demand of the illegal distribution of such tapes, in 1997 DMB released their first live album, Live at Red Rocks.

Live Trax series

Beginning in 2004, Dave Matthews Band began releasing a number of live shows as part of the Live Trax series, most of which are not sold in stores. These are available by order or digital download from the band's website. The name Live Trax is a reference to the former Trax Nightclub in Charlottesville, Virginia, where the band played over 120 shows during their early years from 1991-1996. Due to a high demand in the Boston, Massachusetts area, Live Trax Vol. 6 became the first volume in the series to be sold in stores in addition to the band's online store. In July 2007, Starbucks released a nine-track compilation of the series, simply titled Live Trax, featuring highlights from Live Trax Vols. 1–9. An iTunes download album, Live Trax 2008, was released, in December 2008, to people who bought 2008 summer concert tickets through Ticketmaster or Warehouse Fan Club.
