Petrov Val (Template:Lang-ru) is a town in Kamyshinsky District, Volgograd Oblast, Russia, located on the left bank of the Ilovlya River (a tributary of the Don) 185 kilometres (115 mi) north of Volgograd. Population 14,100 (2005 est.); 14,721 (2002 Census); 13,752 (1989 Census).
The settlement grew out of the construction of the Volga-Don Canal between the Ilovlya and the Kamyshinka Rivers, started by Peter the Great in 1698 but abandoned soon after.
It was granted the status of urban-type settlement in 1949 and town status in 1988.
