It is a slow ballad following the likes of [[Nothing Else Matters]] and [[Mama Said (Metallica song)|Mama Said]]. The song seems to be about a homeless [[heroin]] addict begging for forgiveness from his estranged family before he dies.
It features Bernardo Bigalli on [[violin]] and David Miles on [[hurdy gurdy]]. It is one of the few Metallica songs (prior to the 2003 [[St. Anger]]) not to feature a guitar solo.

"Low Man's Lyric" is the eleventh song from Metallica's seventh studio album, ReLoad. It is a slow ballad following the likes of Nothing Else Matters and Mama Said. The song seems to be about a homeless heroin addict begging for forgiveness from his estranged family before he dies. It features Bernardo Bigalli on violin and David Miles on hurdy gurdy. It is one of the few Metallica songs (prior to the 2003 St. Anger) not to feature a guitar solo.
