Photonics and Nanostructures - Fundamentals and Applications (Phot. Nano. Fund. Appl.) is a peer reviewed, scientific journal, published four times per year byElsevier. There are four editors for this publication; H. Benisty of Campus Polytechnique in France, T.F. Krauss of the University of St. Andrews in the U.K., E. Ozbay of Bilkent University in Turkey, and C.M. Soukoulis of Iowa State University in the U.S.A..[1]

Scope and purpose

The dedicated topic of interest for this journal is photonic crystals and photonic band gaps. It is intended for materials scientists, physicists, chemists, engineers, and computer scientists who are interested in the literature regarding the dedicated topic of interest. Hence, this journal tends to focus on developments in these fields as technology transits from electronic based connections for components to light-based connections. In light of this, the journal is mainly interested in original research work in experiment, theory, and applications. From the point of view of this journal, photonic crystals and photonic band gaps is an emergent field.[1]

Furthermore, fields of research which are subtended to applications of photonic crystals and photonic band gaps encompass physics, chemistry, engineering in optoelectronics, and computers science. [1]
