first 35 tracks revealed

http://kotaku.com/5555374/the-curtain-rises-on-guitar-hero-warriors-of-rock --Teancum (talk) 13:53, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm curious where they are getting that list - all the other announcements today have a shorter (24 song) list. --MASEM (t) 14:11, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am going to say that while Kotaku and Joystiq - semi-reliable sources - are reporting a 35 song reveal, no one else is. The official presser for this announcement [1] appears to only be 24 songs, the same that more reputable sources are using like Eurogamer, 1up, and IGN. Where the other 11 songs are coming from ( a special presser to those those sites?) needs to be identified. --MASEM (t) 17:15, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the official sources might not have gotten updated information yet... --grantyO (talk) 17:20, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The same press release is going to all the sources. The 11 songs that Kotaku has above that seem to be out of the blue. They may be right, or got a different press release. --MASEM (t) 17:24, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, well, if any other completely reliable sources update, let me know. --grantyO (talk) 17:29, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Why wouldn't Kotaku be a reliable source? More and more sources are updating information. The 35 songs appear to be true with sources such as Examiner, That VideoGame Blog, GameKicker, GamrFeed, Xbox360Achievements, Giant Bomb, Regator, G4TV, and more, so I'm gonna go ahead and revert the edit to the past one if it already hasn't been done.GrantyO (talkcontribs) 20:54, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
None of those, except G4TV or possibly Giant Bomb, are reliable sources for the VG project. Alot are duplicating info from other sites. For example, the last bit of news which came from the OXM previews, some sites took that to mean Lars Ulrich was going to be in the game when clearly the magazine detailed it being Lars Umlaut. That got repeated and repeated around the net. Now, I did see that MTV (very reliable) has a clear report that includes the 35 songs, so we can use that instead of an unreliable source. --MASEM (t) 21:54, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, that's great! By the way, I see you have an Xbox Live, do you mind if I add you? My gamertag is dominoperson.GrantyO (talkcontribs) 22:10, 4 June 2010

Touch Pad?

I don't see a touch pad on the new controller. Did they remove it?

Riffrider (talk) 01:54, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it has been removed. UltimateSin01 (talk) 03:32, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Separation?

When should we separate the the song list into its own page? I think at 75 songs. GrantyO (talkcontribs) 19:31, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Release Date Changed

According to the Guitar Hero website, the release date has been changed from September 20, 2010 to September 28, 2010. Can someone change this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by GHRockerTaps09 (talkcontribs) 23:54, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Anberlin

You know if you read the article, it really sounds like Feel Good Drag will be on disc.

"it will be a featured song on the in-store version of “Guitar Hero 6,” due out this September."

I think it is meant to be the version of the game you buy in the store. Also the words "featured" and "version" support this. I think the author just worded it awkwardly.07:24, 20 June 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.243.184.248 (talk)

I think in-store should mean in the main setlist, because if some people don't have PlayStation Network or Xbox Live, they can't download it. GrantyO (talkcontribs) 22:44, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Slash in GHWOR?

According to the Examiner (which Wikipedia has blocked so I can't supply a direct link) Slash will feature 2 songs in the next GH game: "Ghost" and "Were All Gonna Die" Could this be true? I can't find this story anywhere else. The article can be found here: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4ACGW_enUS359US359&q=guitar+hero+6+slash (click the first search result) ForeverItaliaX (talk) 14:56, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Examiner is an unreliable source which is why it was blocked. We'll need to wait for a reliable source to confirm if those tracks are true. --MASEM (t) 15:04, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

2112 confirmed

The Rush song 2112 has been confirmed here: http://hangout.altsounds.com/news/119235-rush-2112-and-moving-pictures-classic-albums.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.243.56.235 (talk) 21:51, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've read that article, done "Find" on it...and I see no mention of Guitar Hero. Can you point out the passage that supports this information? -- TRTX T / C 19:35, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I haven't gotten to it yet, but the article has been changed since posting, suggesting a mistake or too early of a reveal. Since the posted article doesn't mention it, we should remove it. [2] here's an account of why it was probably mistaken. --MASEM (t) 19:38, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Here's another source at gamerlimit. So take it as you want. -- TRTX T / C 19:39, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's linking back to the altsounds article. So not really a new source. --MASEM (t) 19:40, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request from Dlongrox67, 29 June 2010

{{editsemiprotected}} could you please add fool in the rain(live) by pearl jam and Robert Plant source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fool_in_the_rain Also another brick in the wall by pink floyd source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Another_Brick_in_the_Wall thank you Dlongrox67 (talk) 16:39, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. No source is provided in the two Wikipedia articles you mentioned, so I've removed the mention from those articles as well. —C.Fred (talk) 16:46, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Black Widow of La Porte and Holy Wars... The Punishment Due

http://inside.mygamercard.net/2010/06/30/kiss-your-way-through-these-guitar-hero-warriors-of-rock-achievements/ Take a look at the achievements "Giant Slayer" and "Hand Mutilator" on that list... also, "The Meek" confirms 2112 for real this time70.44.151.213 (talk) 11:51, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Added these. Noting that only 2112 Part 4 is confirmed by the achievement. It's possible its the whole song, but only Part 4 is explicitly called out. --MASEM (t) 13:43, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Harmonies

Look at the achievement "Poor Boys"... with 2 vocalists? Harmonies, maybe.grantyO (talk) 01:58, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt it. GH since 5 allows for multiple players on the same instrument, so two people doing vocals would be completely possible (unlike if it was RB, where there's only one "vocalist" and maybe two others for harmonies). --MASEM (t) 07:25, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, OK. --grantyO (talk) 16:27, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Feel Good Drag

1- I think that it's obvious is gonna be in the game, unless the game features a soundtrack (songs played will in the cut-scenes) which would explain the three songs by Megadeth. 2- where are you getting the GH warriors of rock achievements? 3- Slash is in the game, we just need a reliable source to confirm this. "Ghost" is in the game from his new album —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.151.49.41 (talk) 22:05, 3 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This day we fight confirmed

1) i apologize for my un-reliable requests 2) i think This Day We Fight by Megadeth is confirmed because it was confirmed both on their facebook http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/Megadeth?ref=ts and their twitter http://twitter.com/Megadeth/status/17675765360 --Dlongrox67 (talk) 00:59, 4 July 2010 (UTC)dlongrox67[reply]

Bands are not reliable sources about the inclusion of their songs in the games. I'm not doubting that "This Day We Fight" will be in a Guitar Hero game at some point, but we cannot confirm if it's DLC for GH5, on disc or DLC for WOR. --MASEM (t) 01:04, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well since Dave Mustaine has been working close with Neversoft (i.e. Sudden Death) i belive it's true. Maybe a Megadeth related stage will be included in the game just like Tool in GH:WT. Ps. it's WOR, not WOW.--Dlongrox67 (talk) 01:10, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not to mention that the Alter Bridge song is only confirmed by the band member's brother...96.243.184.248 (talk) 23:48, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Setlist Act 1 Trailer

I'm just confirming that [3] this "Setlist Act 1" trailer currently does not reveal any new songs we have tracked already. --MASEM (t) 05:44, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, it does not show any new song but during "Been Caught Stealing" (1:25-1:36) black colored notes scroll down the drum highway. These notes do not appear anywhere else in the video but they do hint at some new gameplay mechanic. Speculators call these "ghost notes"; they are believed to signify a lighter drum hit (the opposite of the armored Velocity Note). ForeverItaliaX (talk) 20:17, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

2 new songs

http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis.jsp?Certificate=29363&searchkeyword= the lyrics suggest that unskinny bop by poison and deadfall by snot are going to be in it —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.87.65.214 (talk) 12:12, 8 July 2010 (UTC) This also confirms This Day We Fight! by Megadeth —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.35.17.26 (talk) 12:58, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We cannot infer from the ESRB the songs (since they are not listed). A reliable source may be able to, however, if one catches up on those...--MASEM (t) 13:03, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
