Wheel of Fortune could be a game show, show Wheel of Fortune

Gulong ng Palad (Wheel of Fortune) is a Philippine 50's radio drama series and 1980s soap opera hit. On January 9, 2006, the drama series came back in television under the direction of Eric Salud and Jerome Pobocan.

The television series can be watched regularly in Philippines' ABS-CBN from Monday to Friday after TV Patrol World. The show also aired simultaneously on The Filipino Channel.

Story

Even as children, Luisa and Carding were not allowed to be friends because of their different social classes, with Carding's family being a prominent wealthy member in their town and Luisa's mother a laundrywoman. So when Carding's father dies his mom, Menang Medel, decides to take him away to the U.S. Although they promised to write to each other, Carding doesn't fulfill his promise, leading Luisa to distrust him and become determined to stay away from him when he returned ten years later.

Manang Medel does not approve of Luisa because of her social class and is always encouraging Carding to date Mimi, the rich daughter of her friend Dona Carmen, who if they married would help her gain the mayor candidacy and her wealth. Yet when Carding gets into an accident, Luisa can no longer deny the love she feels for him but with her family encouraging her to stay away from Carding, they decide to keep their relationship a secret. While they try to keep their relationship hidden Luisa's brother, Totoy, tries to keep his love hidden from tomboy Jojo, because of his family obligations, which will get even harder as Tomas, their father, his secret about his heart condition comes out.

When both families find out about the relationship, Luisa gets pressured into breaking it off with Carding. Although Idad, Luisa's mom, doesn't approve she stands up for her daughter when Menang Medel demeans Luisa. Then when Luisa finally breaks it off with Carding they get caught in a storm and have to seek refuge in a cave while everyone believes they have eloped. When they try to explain, Idad doesn't want to hear it and tells Luisa to leave, while Menang is also furious yet must ask Carding to marry her in the hopes of saving the family's reputation for the mayor position.

After they marry life becomes even harder for Luisa. Her mother has not forgiven her, Carding goes off to Manila for school leaving Luisa in the evil hands of Menang Medel, and when she finally stands up for herself Carding sees, only for his mother to say that Luisa has been the cruel one. Carding becomes stuck between the two most important women in his life and doesn't know whom to believe and turns to Mimi who uses his vulnerability to her advantage.

Carding feels guilty about sleeping with Mimi and avoids going home to face Luisa, whom his mother is saying is having an affair Diego, Jojo's brother. To make matters worse Menang has Tomas fired, the worry of what will happen to his family causes him to have a heart attack and die. This causes Luisa to be reunited with her family and to publicly blame Menang for her father's heartache, causing Menang to lose the Mayor position.

With the separation of the couple, Mimi seduces Carding leading to an affair, while Diego confesses his love for Luisa. When she rejects him, he attempts to rape her, he goes to jail for his attempt, and then to the hospital when his attempted jailbreak gets him stabbed. When it seems that Carding wants to start over once again with Luisa when he learns she is pregnant, Mimi goes to Diego on his deathbed to offer him money in exchange for him lying to Carding claiming that him and Luisa have been having an affair and it is his baby, which he does in order to provide for Jojo when he is gone, Carding believes these lies and is furious with Luisa. Meanwhile Menang becomes destitute after not winning the elections, and when the debts become too high she burns down her house to tries to gain the insurance money but gets injured in the fire and is left homeless instead. Menang finally experiences the poor side of life and makes her realize how badly she treated the poor (especially Luisa and her family.)

Mimi pretends that she is pregnant but when her mother finds out she cuts her off financially until she decides to go back with her to the America. While Luisa and her family decide to start over in Manila to leave their troubles behind, It is the first time that they are finally happy for a long time. While Carding finally realizes how much he loves Luisa but is ashamed about the way he treated her. In the end Mimi gets punished for all her misdeeds, Luisa and Carding are reunited, the whole family make peace, and Jojo and Totoy start dating. Totoy also put up a new restaurant in Sta. Lucia.

	God Mimi is so annoying. she bribed the school by buying computers and at the end won the valedictorian scholarship, Luisa was given the second so she didn't succeed to get the scholarship to college. Luisa goes to their childhood place and she cries a lot. Carding passes the place but on entering in Luisa is out already. There's a party for MIMI, she tries to get Carding be her date for the bowl. Carding accepts it Luisa's mother makes he a nice and lovely dress for the party and she is the beautiful queen. Mimim is jealousy and she makes it dirty. Luisa is running off to go home but then Carding hears her friend calling her. He runs to her. Luisa is happy and Cading too. Mimi sees this and tries to take Carding away but then Carding said he only went to the Valedictorian coz he wanted to see Luisa. She is furious about this and starts to drink. Carding asks Luisa for a dance and she accepts.(love is in the air) MImi is soo mad. she comes when mad and spills a drink in Luisa's face. Luisa goes to her friend (Saling). Luisa iis in love with Cading. Medel (Carding's mom) wants to sell he jewels.-its like they are running out of money. but she doesn't accept it Cardings mother gets the news about the party and she tells Cading to consider being with MIMI who is a rich gal and not their laundry's daughter (LUISA). Carding warns MIMI to never tell on her and if so. he will never consider her as a friend Luisa goes to do her mums chaos (Carding's home). Medel (Carding's mum) comes over and tel her to remember shes a laundry's daughter.

	Madam MEdel asks Idad to tell her daughter to stay away from Carding Mimi asks Carding to go out with her, he refuses but Medel tells him to let Mimi show him around. On their way, Cading sees Luisa. Mimi tries to knock her but instead Luisa falls in the mad. Carding tells Mimi to take him home where he is soo mad at her. He goes back to apologies to Luisa and they are happy again Later Carding tells Mimi to make up with Luisa by apologising if she still wants to be Carding's friend Nany (Luisa's sister) is not comfortable with how they treat Luisa and neglect her. She tries to steal money being saved for Luisa's college. Totoy (Luisa's brother) gets sick and he's taken to the hospital but they don't have the money. Idad goes to borrow madam Medel but she is given very little money. in the conversation MIMI hears it and she decided to help just to please Carding and be friends. Luisa goes to ask for a job in MIMI's house and Mimi mistreats her. Idad asks Luisa if Cading is courting her but she says they are just friends. Idad tells her not to see him again because it may bring problems. Carding takes Luisa to their old train but Mimi sees them and she goes to tell Idad who is mad.

	Luisa is given a punishment and she tells Carding that she was just pretending but shes not her friend. Carding goes to Mimi and asks if Mimi would try to work out his problem with Luisa by convincing her to be his friend. Mimi does the opposite. Medel mortgages her house and she meets Simone who tell her to try and get into politics so as to recover her money. Luisa continues to ignore Carding even though she still loves him. shes doing this to avoid hurting her mother and family.

	Carding tried to ignore Luisa as suggested by MIMI so that she can apologize and come back to him but fails. As they r walking on the street with her friend (saling) they meet Diego who is new in town and turns out to be Luisa's neighbor Luisa is surprised by this even though she still cares. Carding follows her and warns her that if she won't talk to her he will have to die by layin down to be passed over by the train. the train comes and Luisa screams that she will. Later Luisa is happy about what happened. Cardings sees Diego talking to Luisa and Saling and later goes to get information from him. he's jealous!!! Carding is happy and he tells Mimi who is mad. She takes it on Luisa by overworking her. As she leaves late in the night she gets Cading waiting for her and she gets into his car. Luisa's mum and father sees Carding's car and also Cadings mum it but they don't know who's with Carding. When asked Carding says it was Mimi who later accepts that it was her. To show appreciation Cading accept to go with her to play golf. Luisa's mum apologises for doubting her all along

	Cading decides to tell Luisa dat he loves her. Mimi tries to set them up but they were not caught. Luisa avoids him but he tricks her to a romantic date where he now tells Luisa that he loves her. Luisa is out of words. Luisa leaves him without sayin what she feels. Medel is becoming more and more bankrupt. She then decides to run for mayor, Luisa's dad is so stressed up and it's then discovered that he has a heart problem. Diego is now close with Luisa's family and they get to love him.

	Cading tries again to ask Lusia if she loves him and she says no even though she is lying to herself. Cading overspeeds with his motorbike and he gets into an accident. Medel is running for mayor but she despises the poor Saling informs Luisa's family and Luisa is uneasy and she sneaks out at night to go visit Cading with Saling. She confesses to Cading that she loves him even though he's in a comma. Luisa get worried about Cading. Madam Medel wants to get out of running for mayor because she is worried of her son.

	Cading recovers and he asks if Luisa visited, his mum lies that no. She didn't instead lies that Mimi was there all night and day with him Luisa is hapy that he's fine but thinks twice on the promise she made that she will tell him she loves him Its like Totoy is in love with Jojo (Diegos sister) Medels decided to continue running for mayor Madam Medel asks why Luisa and Cading are not talking and if she is the cause of the accident but Cading says no and that everything between them is over because Luisa doesn't like him. Luisa wants to have a talk with Cading but she is afraid of her mother and Cading's mother

	Cading recovering and he keeps hearing Luisa talking to him He resolves to go to college in the city with MIMI He talks with Luisa and she admits that she loves him. Hes so happy that he cancels his trip to study in the city and MIMI cancels too They are happy but their mothers won't like the decision Totoy and Jojo are not in good terms because totoy refers to Jojo as a tomboy Luisa's dad is having a heart problem but he doesn't want his family to know

	Cading picks a fight with Diego outside Luisa's house. Everyone one is mad at him. He goes home mad but lies to his mum that it was MIMI who had rejected him. Luisa goes with her mum to Mimis house since she had lied that she still was working there. Cading goes to see her to explain that he had lied to his mum that Mimi is his galfriend. They hug each other and they promise to see each other later to celebrate Luisa's bday, unfortunately Mimi overhears it and she later manipulates Idad who picks up Luisa to go home together. She feels happy since Cading will waist his night waiting for Luisa

	Cading goest at Luisa's place to give her the bday present. Thomas sees them but he understands her daughter. Cading and Luisa meet but they change their venue of meeting since they know that Mimi has discovered it. They later bump into Menang and Cading accepts that Luisa is his girlfriend. Menang is furious with them especially Luisa who she refers to a gold digger Idad is mad at Luisa for lying to them and being together with Cading which she's against. She grounds Luisa Cading goest at Luisa to beg them to forgive Luisa but he's not welcomed there.

	Idad Goes to warn Menang but they pick up a fight and Menang starts throwing harsh words about poor people. Cading writes a letter to Luisa. He was missing her a lot. Menan'gs campaign is backfiring because of her harsh words to Idad. She is forced to go and apologize to Idad

Their family is worried and news goes round that they have eloped. Idad is mad at Luisa is she warns her not to ever come back since she lied to the family.

	everyone is talking about Luisa and Cading. Luisa's family is still mad at her. Madam Menang is mad too but to boost her position as a mayor, decides that Cading and Luisa to marry, Luisa accepts the proposal. Mimi is disappointed but she is ready to make that marriage fail at the end.

She feels guilty but doesn't accepts. Mimi overhears Cading telling his cousin of why she loves Luisa. And Mimi later tries to be like Luisa by dressing madam Menang confronts Luisa when she heard of her being broke and Luisa confronts her back by telling her that she won't let her mistreat her again coz she is not stupid and that the poor do have their principles too.

When Cading leaves for school, Madam Menang drags Luisa into the house but the gud thing is Diego sees what is happening

	Idad falls sick and is taken to the hospital. Luisa is told about it but madam Menang doesn't want her to leave the house. She sneaks away. Idad is supposed to have a blood transfusion and Luisa is the one who donates. Luisa gets home later and she is confronted by Menang Cading gets home on hearing that Luisa is gone. On entering the house she finds her mother on the floor and he thinks that Luisa pushed her mother Saling visits Luisa by sneaking into the house and discovers that Luisa is mistreated. Later Diego visits her but by bad luck Menang see it and forwards the picture to Cading. Cading calls Luisa and warns her never to see Diego again or else he will get hurt. Piping tells his mum, Idad, that it's Luisa who donated the blood and she is mad that they never told her. Jojo is trying to make Totoy jealous by being with her friend. Totoy is hurting but can't do anything. Diego visits Luisa again but madam Menang suspects she is talking to a man even though she hasn't seen who it is.

	Cading feels guilty of going home to his wife. Mimi locks herself in her room after Cading told her she cnt be his friend. Cading hears about it and goes to visit. To make her happy they have fun together and they don't visit home. Luisa and Menang go to church and they meet Luisa's family. Idad talks to her daughter and they all feel happy about it. Luisa asks Menangs political advisor to help her dad get a job but the man is too wicked because he wants a favour back which means Luisa cnt coz they r poor. Cading and Mimi visit home for a weekend but Cading avoids Luisa. They meet Mimi and she invites them for a pool party which never happens but they swim with Cading. Menang sees that and she call Luisa wo had not accompanied Cading to see whats happening. Luisa sees Cading bending over Mimi who had pretended to have drowned.

	Luisa apologises for doubting Cading and MIMi (i wish she knew). Instead Cading claims dat he was mad wen he saw her and Diego. Which he then says that he should never see them together. After Cading is gone back to the university. Luisa decides to surprise him with a visit whi he was really surprised. Cading introduces Luisa as "LUISA" and not his wife. They have fun together up to late at night where Luisa decides to leave. Cading doesn't accompany her to the bus station where she is nearly attacked and thanks to Diego who was just around. They leave together At Luisa's place. The family is preparing thomas' bday. Thomas is buying gifts for her family but on his way home he gets week and an accident occurs on the railway. He is dead.

	Madam medel goes to Thomas' funeral but Luisa is mad at her. Luisa stays with her family. Luisa confronts medel in the streets that she is the one responsible for her father's death. Cading asks her mother and Luisa but they all are against each other. He decides to go back to the city. Medel goes further by making Totoy be fired. Luisa gets mad at she claims war to madam Medel.

Cading keeps doubting Luisa and he later finds them together at night at his place.

	Madam carmen asks Luisa why Menang is mad at her and she learns that Luisa is being mistreated. Menang locks Luisa in a room but she escapes and goes to her place. Cading tries to convince her to go back to the mansion but she refuses and her mum tells him to leave. Diego has feelings for Luisa and she senses that. Totoy goes to the city and he is lucky to find one. As toty is with his boss and her child in a shopping mall he sees Cading and Mimi flirting

	Luisa doesn't believe Totoy ween he tells her dat he saw Cading and MIMI flirting. She asks Cading about it and he gives an excuse. Diego tries to rape Luisa on her way to see Saling (he was drunk) Saling saves her and they report to the police who arrests Diego. Luisa is pregnant for Cading. Menang burns her house in order to get the insurance money. Too bad it's discovered that she started the fire. She gets injured and they have nowhere to go. Idad welcomes them into their place but Menang is too arrogant Mimi knws about the pregnancy and she goes to Diego to make an offer to him in order to lie that it's true Luisa and him were having an affair and that it is his baby.

	Diego dies and Luisa receives a letter from Cading to cancel her marriage to him (Divorce) Mimi plans for the eviction of Luisa's family and Alex overhears it. Mimi is told by the doctor that she will never bear children Alex knocks Luisa but she recovers. Jojo asks Mimi about the agreement b2n her and Diego but she refuses. When Jojo tries to tell Cading, Mimi goes and tries to strungle Jojo. Jojo's friends comes to save her. They go to report but it's too late since Mimi already reported. ALex is discovered to be the one who knocked Luisa!!!

Mimi storms into Luisa's house and tries to kill her, Thanx to Carding who arrives on time. Mimi takes Cading and tries to kill herself with Cading. They are involved in an accident, Cading recovers, Mimi recovers too but she loses her legs. Carding and Luisa have a baby girl and they live happily. Totoy owns a restaurant in st Luisa and she courts Jojo. END
