Evaluation request

It looks like the article has progressed nicely while in incubation. Circumstances have also progressed for it, so we now have reliable sources showing a release date. Is this article ready to go back to mainspace, or should it be discussed at Talk:Katy Perry? —C.Fred (talk) 20:23, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Is there any other source for that tracklisting? It surprises me that only one relatively obscure retailer knows the tracklisting, and that makes me not trust it as much as I would from, say, Amazon.—Kww(talk) 01:25, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

About the cover

The cover was unofficial as a album cover but it was an official as a single cover for her upcoming single release, Teenaga Dream.

Move

This should be moved to Teenage Dream as no other album, or anything else at all, has this title, with Teenage Dream (album) as well as this page redirecting to it. nth studio album

I see an edit was made today changing it from the third to the second studio album, though it was quickly changed back. It seems fitting to mention a parallel situation here:

Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie is the fourth album and second internationally released album by singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette…

In Morissette's case, her first two albums were released in Canada only, so it's easy to make a distinction on country of release; however, she's listed as just Alanis on the first two albums.

In Perry's case, the clear distinguishing factor is real v. stage name. If this issue comes up again, is it worth changing the lede to say "third studio album (and second released under her stage name)" or some other similar wording? —C.Fred (talk) 04:22, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

This sounds a bit flowery to me. Why don't you just make things clearer and say that "It is Perry's third studio album and follow up to her breakthrough mainstream album One of the Boys". The way things are worded at the moment, it appears to devalue the nature of her poprock/Christian album and though granted it was not as successful it is still a studio album of hers making this her third overall album. --Lil-unique1 (talk) 02:24, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Cover with or without text

Currently a small debate about the cover is on-going. Althought Katy Perry did specifically say that she wanted to release the album with the cover but NO text. However EMI music have confirmed both covers with and without text for release... here and here. I suggest that the most sensible thing to do would be to remove the cover until the album is actually released the cover can be replaced once the album is released. In the event that that both versions of the cover with and without the text are released, the cover WITH the text should be used because it is easier to explain that a version without the text was released also. --Lil-unique1 (talk) 20:53, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Fair play. I've just seen that the cover without text is the one being used on US/UK iTunes for its preorder. So I suspect the one with text would be used internationally. If that is the case the one with the text should be included in the infobox as it is easier to explain that "in the US/UK the cover has no text" than it is to explain that "outside of the US/UK the cover features red bubble text with a blue outline and the title 'Teenage Dream' is written in candy cane font-style." does that kind of make sense? --Lil-unique1 (talk) 01:33, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

you have good point. cover with text on should be used. it's much easier to add to article "in the US/UK the cover has no text". we'll see at end of month which cover will be official internationally, and which in US/UK. I would have said that the cover with no text was the 'official' cover, as it is the one being used for the iTunes pre-order and US/UK releases, and was revealed first, as the official cover, and is also the cover that Perry herself supports. The international release/alternate could be also added underneath, alike her debut's alternate international covers.
