The 2010 Summer Youth Olympics medal table is a list of National Olympic Committees (NOCs) ranked by the number of gold medals won by their athletes during the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, held in Singapore, from 14 to 26 August 2010.
The Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) is not keeping an official medal tally.[1] The ranking in this table is based on information provided by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and is consistent with IOC convention in its published medal tables. By default, the table is ordered by the number of gold medals the athletes from a nation have won (in this context, a "nation" is an entity represented by a National Olympic Committee). The number of silver medals is taken into consideration next and then the number of bronze medals. If nations are still tied, equal ranking is given and they are listed alphabetically by IOC country code.
The first medals were awarded for the girls' individual event in triathlon, with Yuka Sato of Japan winning the first gold medal at the Youth Olympics.[2][3]
For mixed NOC events, the first gold medal was awarded to team Europe 1, consisting of Egoryan Yana of Russia, Fichera Marco, Mancini Camilla, Affede Leonardo, Santuccio Alberta and Luperi Eduardo of Italy, which won the team competition in fencing. In this case, a gold medal was tallied for each of the countries of Italy and Russia. This is shown in the medal tally by giving one gold medal to Italy and another gold medal to Russia.
