Personal Life

Gersbach hailed from Daraga, Albay in the Bicol Region. Her father was German and her mother was from Philippines. She was a Management graduate at the University of Asia and the Pacific, and managed a family business (a restaurant) in Bicol at the time of her passing.[1][2]

Pageantry

Gersbach, then aged 23, was crowned Binibining Pilipinas International 2009 on March 07, 2009. She was the first Bicolana beauty to hold a Binibining Pilipinas title since Miriam Quiambao last won the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe crown in 1999. Gersbach represented the Philippines in the 49th Miss International 2010 pageant on November 2009 in Macau, China where she placed among the Top 15 Semi-Finalists.[3] Gersbach was also one of the Pageant coaches for Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2010 Venus Raj shortly before her passing.

Death

Gersbach died in a car incident around 11am August 21, 2010, when the Toyota Innova she was traveling in collided on the forehead with a passenger bus in Barangay Pawili in Bula. Police said, "the bus was trying to avoid a tricycle when he collided with a Toyota Innova." Gersbach and her makeup artist Alden Orense and her driver, Santos Ramos Jr. were also killed in the accident. The only passenger to have survived the car accident was Ronald Lita, a friend of Gersbach's.[4]Stella Marquez-Araneta, Chairperson of Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. issued a statement mentioning the organization’s “sincerest condolences and prayers” to the family.[5]
