Tony Alcantar is an American actor and currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He is best known for his improv work with the Wind City Women Improv Troupe. Tony Alcantar toured and performed with The Second City in both Toronto and London, Ontario. While there, the Edmonton Journal dubbed him, "A bright young comic; a standout for his physical humor". The Meaford Express called him, "The funniest man in summer theatre", while the Chicago Sun-Times alerted readers that "Tony Alcantar will make you laugh out loud". Tony is an alum of the much heralded ImprovOlympia and was the founder and Artistic Director of the Chicago TheatreSports. In 1995, Tony was a recipient of a City Council Resolution by Chicago's Mayor Daley, "expressing thanks for contributions to our city's cultural life."

From 1989 to 1998 Tony taught at the Players Workshop of The Second City, directing 16 shows there. He has a BA in Theater and MFA in Acting from Chicago's Roosevelt University, where he taught as well.

Having arrived in Vancouver in 1999, Tony has landed guest star or recurring roles on Stargate SG-1, Dead Like Me, Da Vinci's Inquest, The Dead Zone, The Collector, Andromeda, Dark Angel, Millennium, Strange World, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Just Deal, Cold Squad, Los Luchadores, The Outer Limits, Breaking News and more. He had a recurring role on NBC's Emmy Award Winning Sunday night primetime hit, American Dreams.

Of his many film performances, Tony performed in the all improvised award-winning feature, Best in Show. He can be seen in MVPII, The Rhino Brothers, Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever, The Charlie's Angels Story, Chestnut: Hero of Central Park, Hope Springs, Fantastic Four, In the Land of Women, and more.

His vocal versatility earned him lead and principal roles in the animated shows Slammin' Sammy, Being Ian, Evolution, Inspector Gadget and the Gadgetinis, Kong, Gundam Wing, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and Megaman Net Warrior. He has provided both voice and body to the upcoming Electronic Arts' video game The Godfather: The Game, as well as doing multiple voices for multi-award winning SSX On Tour. Tony has also been the dialect coach on the features SLiTHER, Whisper, and Wickerman with Nicholas Cage.

Tony can be seen in both American and Canadian TV commercials and his musical talents headlined a sold-out children's concert at the Norman Rothstein Theatre.
