Roger Moore is not in this film
Someone is crediting Roger Moore as "James St. John Smyth". No news has reported his involvement.
Also Steve Austin/Dan Paine and Mickey Rourke/Emmanuel are not members of the Expendables, so I am moving them to Other Cast. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dignam (talk • contribs) 10:02, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Incorrect character names
Confirmed by Stallone, via Ain't It Cool New's website, the character played by Terry Crews is Hale Caesar, no character by the name Agent Will Sands exists. Likewise, Randy Couture's character is not one of the Expendables, when in fact he is a henchman by the name Toll Road.
Cast list
I cleaned up the cast list, because some of those character descriptions where entirely innacurrate, also Danny Trejo and Scott Adkins are NOT in this movie. Schwarzenegger's cameo role is unconfirmed. Toll Road's allegences are not confirmed. Dignam (talk) 03:35, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
AICN has no mention that "fan reaction" was the cause of booting 50 Cent/casting Terry Crews. Socby19 (talk) 16:38, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Danny Trejo
Trejos agent confirmed he is not in the movie, I've removed him from the cast. There was no source anyway. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.129.66.237 (talk) 00:58, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Do you have a reference to support that? The Editor 155 (talk) 21:25, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Trejo is not in this movie. He turned it down because he didn't get the money he asked for. Every time I delete him from the cast, someone keeps reverting my edits. Please stop this. (193.75.51.69 (talk) 11:41, 27 May 2009 (UTC))
He's right. Trejo is NOT in this movie. How many bloody times? Everytime I edit it, someone puts him back in as well. Both Trejo and his agent have confirmed this. God... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.154.213.124 (talk) 20:52, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
STOP putting Danny Trejo back in the cast list
It has been confirmed twice to be untrue. Some moron insists on returning his name to the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.154.213.124 (talk) 15:50, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Arnold
Arnold Schwarzenegger is has NOT been classified as a bar patron in the movie. He is most likely playing himself, but all we know is that he is going to be in a cameo role. The K.O. King (talk) 15:50, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Can we all agree on Arnold's name in the film? Stallone clearly says 'bigger Trent Mauser'. Trench was an earlier name, like when Jet Li was originally Kong Bao but then became Ying Yang. Dignam —Preceding undated comment added 01:25, 20 September 2010 (UTC).
General Schwarzenegger
How sure is anyone that Arnold IS playing a retired general in his cameo? Please, respond ASAP!!! The K.O. King (talk) 01:11, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Hello, is anyone there? The K.O. King (talk) 16:55, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
- I am removing the information about Schawarzenegger being a General, as there are no links reporting this. Yearsago (talk) 14:25, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Found source for info about Arnold: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/42102 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yearsago (talk • contribs) 17:17, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Didn't he make a campaign promise not to do movies while he was governor? Not that I'm gullible enough to believe politicians, but I always get a laugh out of blatant lies. 71.161.62.48 (talk) 19:28, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Official HD Trailer
"On October 13, the HD trailer was officially released online." I flagged this as citation needed as I have never seen any announcement anywhere of an official HD trailer. This was replaced by two links to the LEAKED trailer, which is neither official nor HD. Can someone explain why this is still stated as fact here, or do I have to keep changing it? Psyklax (talk) 11:19, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Little of this is encyclopedic
The majority of this article is either speculation or PR puff. Blog chat, rumours, supposed leaks, It's not a pretty sight. Does anyone already involved who knows what a WKP entry is and isn't want to slap this article into respectable shape before I call in the professionals? Not a lot of what is currently on the page will survive, trust me. I understand that some people are fans, and are looking forward to this movie, but WKP can and must do better than this - this not the IMDB newsdesk. Centrepull (talk) 23:06, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
R rating or PG13
I've seen this quote pop up on the internet:
The R rated cut was screen tested to resounding success. According to unit publicist Sheryl Main's Twitter, "One thing for sure the expendables is not pg-13!!!
Can someone find a source and if it's true insert it into the article? 89.150.187.161 (talk) 19:54, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
Jackie Chan
There has been a few attempts to add information that Jackie Chan was offered a role in The Expendables based on [1], but I have reverted it because the source only says that Jackie Chan is missing from the movie in a list of action stars, but does not say that he was offered a role. If anyone would like to discuss the issue, feel free to talk about it here. Angryapathy (talk) 18:47, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
- I concur with the revert. Info about Chan shouldn't included unless there is a relevancy to it, such as him being offered a role and being turned down. It would be like adding information in an article about the Moon about how Justin Timberlake hasn't been there. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 13:02, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
Chuck Norris and others
Like Chan, does anyone know if Norris was offered a part? I don't think this movie contains "all the heroes" as they advertise. I was just wondering if there is any info on Chuck Norris, Jackie Chan, Mr. T, Hulk Hogan, The Rock (Dwayne Johnson), etc. and others being offered/considered (along with other popular wrestlers or action actors) but they turning it down like Steven Seagal, Wesley Snipes and Jean-Claude Van Damme did. If so, please add to article if relevant. Thank you. 63.131.4.149 (talk) 01:44, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Personal note: Would have been interesting to see Clint Eastwood make a cameo saying "Make my day" or "get off my lawn"! (SMILE) 63.131.4.149 (talk) 02:22, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
During ComicCon, Stallone said he did consult with Norris. DaChoppa (talk) 17:46, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
Ah, ok. Thank you for the info. Perhaps due to Chuck's religious view/beliefs, he did not participate. That is just personal speculation though. Do you have a source from Stallone about consulting Norris via Comic-Con? I'm not familiar with that organization. 63.131.4.149 (talk) 08:56, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
- Not to be rude, but this is info you could suss out on your own anon63; we aren't a rumor bucket. If you cannot cite it, it doesn't belong here. This is an encyclopedia, not a fan forum. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 12:59, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
Sequel and unreliable sources
The sequel section has been edited alot, but I cannot find any sources that are not blogs which discuss the info. And per WP:CRYSTAL, it's all idle speculation about whether a sequel will actually be produced before the movie actually hits theatres. So I've removed the section, and think we should strive for better sources for the information. Angryapathy (talk) 18:42, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Country
"...are sent on a mission to a South American country..."

It's an island in the gulf, not South America. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.89.3.203 (talk) 21:09, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Box Office
Hey there, BoxOfficeMojo is reporting that The Expendables has made $35,000,000 on opening weekend, opening at No. 1. Can this change please be made? DaChoppa (talk) 17:45, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
The budget?
82 million? Someone should source this. If not this information must be deleted. Thedeparted123 (talk) 19:16, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- If you would have read in the article you would have seen it was sourced. You don't need references in the infobox, it's clutter. Mike Allen 22:06, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
minor roles for major stars
Is it just me or does it seem they didn't take full advantage of Willis and Schwarzenegger. They got two of the greatest action stars in Hollywood history to star in this movie and they have the most minor roles in the entire film (Willis and the Govenator only appear in once in the movie). So why would these stars have such minor roles when it's a movie staring mostly famous action movie stars when they're some of the most widely known? - It's for the Lutz (talk) 22:32, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- Schwarzenegger's appearance is understandable considering he's breaking his campaign pledge by even appearing in the movie. In any case, this is not a forum. ggctuk (2005) (talk) 13:45, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
Edit request from Adamjdick, 15 August 2010
{{editsemiprotected}}
Please change, "The results were unexpected for a film expected to only have a limited APPEAR to male moviegoers." to, "The results were unexpected for a film expected to only have a limited APPEAL to male moviegoers". It is a simple spelling error. Thank you.
Adamjdick (talk) 22:34, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- Already done Dabomb87 (talk) 23:27, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
"Yang gains an advantage when he and Jensen enter an ARE marked low clearance" should read "Yang gains an advantage when he and Jensen enter an AREA marked low clearance"; an area, not an are. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.7.223.111 (talk) 06:33, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- Good catch. Got it. Although I did misspell my edit summary. Heh. Millahnna (mouse)talk 06:44, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
More Info
Does anybody else think that the plot could have more info? I will add to it later on but I could use help. The K.O. King (talk) 19:08, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- I think it's fine right now but did you have some specific details in mind? We want to avoid getting into too many specifics per WP:FILMPLOT and WP:PLOTSUM but if there's something that you feel is unclear we can all take a look at those elements. Millahnna (mouse)talk 19:17, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
I don't want to add anything too drastic like punch by punch deatails of the fights that took place. But you may have noticed that I mentioned that Toll killed Paine and Lee and Yang killed the Brit. Befor I mentioned this it only said that Lee. Yang, and Toll killed Paine and the Brit, while accurate it was unclear I jyst think that little things like this could make the page easier to understand. The K.O. King (talk) 00:57, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah I saw you do that one and I definitely see what you mean now. Sometimes not getting into the specifics of who killed whom works fine and sometimes it makes thing confusing. Good job on being bold. :D Millahnna (mouse)talk 01:04, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks I might add a little more later but I don't know if it really needs it that's why I said might. Should I mention the fight between Stallone and Austin (Ross and Paine)? Just want your opinion on that. The K.O. King (talk) 13:52, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
So this scene between Paine and Ross be added or not? 67.76.175.101 (talk) 13:33, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Artwork
What is the name of the artist whom Gisele Itie's character is given credit for in the movie?24.121.18.142 (talk) 22:57, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
Trent Mauser
There have been about a dozen revisions changing the name "Trench" to "Trent" or "Trent Mauser". I originally noticed this detail when I watched the movie, but figured it would just get removed for lack of a reference. However, after seeing several youtube videos (which, of course, don't count for sources), it seems the character's named of Trent Mauser is common knowledge. --Boycool (talk) 11:49, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
- Soon as we get a reliable source for it I'll change it myself. :-) Geoff B (talk) 21:18, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
There wont be a reliable source until either the DVD or the sequel. So why are you content with posting clearly false information then? By the same logic we can change Jet Li's name back to Kong Bao because the only definitive evidence right now is on Youtube. Dignam (talk) 09:54, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
