During World War Two on April 9, 1945 the inhabitants of Plostina were murdered by members of Adolf Hitler's Third Reich and the settlement was burnt to the ground in retaliation for Plostina inhabitants supporting partisan activities. A chapel exists on the site listing the names of the victims of this horrific event and additionally an exposition installed in one of the local houses has been dedicated to the history of the anti-fascist resistance movement in the district of Zlin. Aside from these scant details, a more thorough historical background of people and events leading up to and including this tragedy would be greatly appreciated.
