Brad Kavanagh (born 21 August 1992, Whitehaven, Cumbria) is a British actor and singer-songwriter.
Biography
He made his acting debut in the West End in Billy Elliot the Musical as Billy's best friend Michael at the age of 11, but is best known for playing Dylan on the Disney Channel UK TV series As the Bell Rings. In 2008, he presented the talent competition, My School Musical, also on Disney Channel UK, alongside the previous year's winner Samantha Dorrance.[1] He has written two songs, "As the Bell Rings" and "Right Time", where released as singles.[2] He has been billed as the UK's answer to Zac Efron.[3] He was also in The Disney Channel Games 2008 on the green team, The Cyclones. In 2008, he did a cover of the "Here I Am" song from the DCOM, Camp Rock and starred in his own music video version of it in which whilst performing, he watched the actual movie on a cinema screen.
In 2009, he was on the Disney Channel UK presenting Undercover Coach, and featuring in My Camp Rock. Recently he presented the Jonas Brothers 3D Movie Premiere in the UK, which covered the UK premiere of the Jonas Brothers 3D Concert Experience on the morning of the release of the film. He was recently a judge on Hannah-Oke, an X Factor type game show where contestants and their families sing Hannah Montana songs. Kavanagh is currently studying his A-levels and also appearing as a TV presenter for various Disney Channel UK productions. He is also still writing, producing, recording and engineering his own songs at his home in Cumbria, and you can find these at www.myspace.co.uk/bradkavanaghmusic. Kavanagh aspires to eventually achieve a recording contract.
Equipment
Kavanagh uses multiple instruments in his music production, he currently uses a Kawai digital grand piano, Gibson Les Paul traditional and a Yamaha DTX8 electronic drum kit along with XLN audio's 'Addictive drums' plug in.
