Nickelodeon HD is a high-definition kids channel broadcasting a variety of children's programming. The channel will launch in the United Kindgom and the Republic of Ireland[1] in October 2010.

The channel will feature HD versions of programmes such as Fanboy & Chum Chum, The Penguins Of Madagascar, iCarly, Victorious, Big Time Rush and The Troop. [2]

History

  • In April 2010, Nickelodeon UK received a broadcasting licence from the UK broadcast regulator Ofcom to broadcast a high-definition version of the kids channel Nickelodeon. [3]
  • The channel will launch on Sky in the UK and in the Republic of Ireland on October 5, 2010. and will be a high definition simulcast of the existing Nickelodeon UK channel.[1]
  • An international Nickelodeon HD channel will launch in 2011.[4]
