Yvie Burnett

Yvie Burnett was the main vocal coach on ITV's successful TV talent show, The X Factor. She was born on 8 August 1968 in Aberdeen, Scotland. She attended Ellon Academy, Aberdeenshire from 1975 to 1981.

She has also been the vocal coach on the first three series of Britain's Got Talent and is the vocal coach on America's Got Talent (Series 4 & 5)

She joined The X Factor in Series 2 as Louis Walsh's vocal coach and coached Shayne Ward to success as the series winner. In 2005, as well as working with Louis with groups, Yvie also coached Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne's acts. She subsequently coached Leona Lewis in 2006, Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts in 2007, and Britain's Got Talent contestants Faryl Smith and Andrew Johnston in 2008.

Burnett specialises in the Estill Vocal Technique and has also worked with Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol and Danny McNamara from Embrace and Murph from The Wombats. She is credited by Paul Potts in his tour programme as being his "Vocal Mentor", having continued to work with him on his 2008 World Tour. She also continues to work with Leona Lewis, Shayne Ward and 2007 X Factor winner, Leon Jackson. More recently Yvie has been the "Vocal Consultant" on the BBC's soon to be broadcast, Your Country Needs You[1].

Burnett worked on the BBC series' Last Choir Standing, Your Country Needs You, the UK national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, and was the vocal consultant on ITV's 2008 game show, Who Dares, Sings!. She also worked on Series 4 of US Talent show, "America's Got Talent"She is currently working on Series 6 of X Factor and with Andrew Lloyd-Webber as vocal consultant on "Love Never Dies"

Yvie is also an operatic mezzosoprano who has sung as a soloist with the Welsh National Opera, Glyndebourne, Opera North, De Nederlandse Opera and Opera De Nantes.

At the beginning of 2009, Yvie was asked by Andrew Lloyd-Webber to work with him on the BBC TV show, "Your Country Needs You", to select an artist to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow. Lloyd-Webber was so impressed with Yvie's work with the singers on the show, that he asked her to work with the singers in Love Never Dies, his follow-up to Phantom Of The Opera. Yvie is still the Vocal Coach for the London show.

In May 2009, Yvie worked with Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent and in July helped coach the Scottish singer through the recording of "Cry Me A River" with producer, Steve Mac. She then prepared Susan for her album recording with intensive coaching at her home in Bedford. Yvie then went to Los Angeles for the Summer to work on the fourth series of America's Got Talent, and when it came to the show's Finale, she not only had to coach the singing contestants in the show but two of her pupils, Leona Lewis and Susan Boyle were also premiering their new songs on the show.

Yvie worked with Susan Boyle on "I Dreamed A Dream - The Susan Boyle Story" and she was also featured in the show. Yvie Also worked with girl group The Saturdays and you can see she has done a very good job. She is one of the most legandary vocal coach ever to been seen.

Through her work with Lord Lloyd Webber, Yvie was introduced to his ex-wife, Sarah Brightman and they have worked very closely together over the last year.

In the Summer of 2010, Yvie was working as vocal coach on America's Got Talent and started working with 10 year old singer, Jackie Evancho.

Yvie is currently helping Jackie make her first recordings for Sony Music.
