Marc Mysterio

Marc Mysterio is a Canadian pop musician, disc jockey, writer, singer, composer, and producer [1]. Marc Mysterio runs two labels - World Class Records & Amerada Music, both of which are exclusive sub-labels of Universal Music[2].[3].

Marc Mysterio is renowned for his versatile style transcending various genres[3]. As a dj; he has toured internationally, as well as having appeared as an invited guest dj on global radio station, including: as a guest dj on BBC Radio 1 with Judge Jules.[4]

"In a short time, Marc has managed to conquer the cold face of dance in a very big way and is about to enter an elite level as an artist with his debut album _Redemption', in April (2010)" says Legandary BBC Radio 1 Presenter, Judge Jules introducing Marc Mysterio to millions of listeners prior to his guest dj set on the legendary show known as the 'Warm Up'.[5]

His upcoming album release "Redemption" includes collaborations with Samantha Fox, Gary Pine, Lillix, Tiff Lacey, Dhany, Chris Willis Shena and Yardi Don.

2007 - 2008

Marc Mysterio first became recognized in 2007 for his first single "Answer This" (featuring Linda Newman);[6][7][8] however, most recognize for his follow up hit single "Let Loose" to be his first release, featuring the vocals of Laura V (whom prior to that, was featured on the hit song "Changes" by Chris Lake).

2009

On January 2, 2009, Marc Mysterio and Téo Moss released a cover version of "One More Time" featuring the vocals of Yardi Don.[9] In a press release, Mysterio noted his reasoning for producing the cover was his difficulty in mixing the original in his DJ sets due to its slow tempo. He and Moss consider "One More Time" to be a great influence in their work and intended to create a version of the song with a "2009 feel".[10]. The cover version was charted in multiple countries worldwide, and received widespread airplay in USA, although did not crack the top 40. On May 4, 2008; Spinnin Records released Roll Wit It in Europe.

"Tomorrow" Marc Mysterio feat. Samantha Fox

“Over the last few years, Marc has been working his craft and building his presence in the global scene with solid vocal tracks and big room anthems with crossover appeal.

Marc Mysterio released "Tomorrow", featuring Samantha Fox, which debuted on radio worldwide on August 7, 2009 on stations worldwide, including: NRJ, Power 106, and Radio 538.[11].[12]

British pop star Samantha Fox has teamed with Canadian musician Marc Mysterio on "Tomorrow," a new dance single available exclusively through Beatport.[13]

The song was released Tuesday, September 15 on World Class Records / Amerada Music.[13]

"This week, I started to get the butterflies in my stomach whenever I think about 'Tomorrow' -- the same feeling I had when 'Touch Me' was on the cusp of breaking out in the 80s," Fox said in a statement reported by UPI (United Press International).[13]

"We are an underground music store, but we also work with artists that have a crossover appeal," said Dave Heugel, the European label manager at Beatport, a popular digital retailer for dance music. "Marc Mysterio's 'Tomorrow' is a great song with plenty of mass appeal, and fits well within our shop. Additionally, the vocals from Samantha Fox are great."[13]

A music video for the song is also being shot and is expected to be released in October 2009.[13]

It has since been signed by Sony Music [1], and has reached number 1 on pop charts in Cyprus, while charting on the national club charts of France, and Russia.

Lawsuit

On August 23, 2010, Marc Mysterio filed a lawsuit against Brandy Norwood seeking up to $6,000,000 in damages[14]. According to reports, Brandy had been paid $10,000 as a side artist fee to feature on Marc Mysterio's Debut Album's Lead Single, 'Shout It Out'.[15] The invoice and an email from her manager Ryan Ramsey confirming receipt of the funds have been published by the press.[16] but then backed out of the deal reports say due to Universal Music not wanting her on Marc Mysterio's Dance song and never sent the money back. However, a month later, Universal Music signed an exclusive partnership with Mysterio permitting him to sign any act he wishes to the label putting Norwood's purported excuse in doubt.[17]

The law suit is on going, and a subpeona was issued by the court ordering copies of videotapes of conversations between Marc Mysterio and Brandy which were recorded by VH1 for her Family Business Season 2 Reality Show. The single without Brandy has thus far reached number 2 on Mediabase's New Airplay Top 40 Chart for the week of October 3rd, besting Eminem leading media to place Brandy in the 'snooze you lose of the week category',[18] while Perez Hilton added 'this is why you don't ask a has been to contribute to your music'[19] and Tila Tequila chimed in 'Come on Bran, you’re a veteran in this business and should know better than to flake on a music deal!' [20]

“Not sure whom in the industry will really work with Brandy Norwood after this, but it’s kind of ironic that 1 month after her people use as an excuse to back out of our contract and deal that ‘Universal didn’t want her on my track” that Universal solicits me and my company to be a partner of theirs leading with the very release she was to be on,” Mysterio tells Singersroom.[21]

Mysterio also says he will use footage from Brandy’s VH1 TV show to prove he is in the right.

'The videotapes from VH1 TV of us talking will be in court and out in the public soon enough, so it will be very clear how far along that project was,' Mysterio tells Singersroom. 'A reasonable person might conclude that she was more interested in Dancing With the Stars and not having a project that would compete for press space. Things that make you go hmmm…' [22]
