- For the letter Heth in many Semitic alphabets, see Heth (letter).
Heth (חֵת, Standard Hebrew Ḥet, Tiberian Hebrew Ḥēṯ) the second of the eleven biblical nations of Canaan. Historians are divided as to whether or not this branch was connected with the Nesili-Hittites of Anatolia (whom the Assyrians called Hatti). The Biblical group was so named after a son of Canaan, son of Ham mentioned in Genesis as having sold land to Abraham.
