Rangi Chase (born 11 April 1986 in Dannevirke, New Zealand) is a professional rugby league footballer who currently plays in the Super League competition for the Castleford Tigers. He has played at representative level for the New Zealand Māori team.He is set to JOIN THE Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in the current off season for an undisclosed fee.

Playing career

Chase joined European Super League side Castleford Tigers for the 2009 season, planning to link up in the halves with Brent Sherwin.[1][2]

During the 2009 season, Chase scored 10 tries and made more tackle busts than any other player in Superleague, earning him Castleford Tigers player of the year award.

On 21 August 2009, it emerged that Chase had signed a new four year contract with the Tigers, lasting until the end of the 2013 season.

Representative career

He was named for the New Zealand training squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup.[3]

He represented the New Zealand Māori in 2008 and 2010.
