Wazir Akbar Khan (Dari: وزیر اکبر خان) is a wealthy suburb in Kabul, Afghanistan, where many embassies are located, including the U.S. and Canadian.^[1]

The neighborhood is named after Prince Akbar Khan, a famous Pashtun hero during the First Anglo-Afghan War in the early 1840s, son of Emir Dost Mohammad Khan. It is a common place for foreign workers to live. The streets are laid out on a grid with Western, two-story houses that date back to the 60s and 70s.^[2]

The early part of the novel The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini is set in this suburb.

Like much of Kabul, the Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police provide security for the area. Many of Afghanistan's national government institutions are located in the area.^{[citation needed]}
