Due to the success of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto, the series has spawned three OVAs or "Original Video Animation" that were aired at Shonen Jump's Jump Festa 2003 and Jump Festa 2004. They were later released on DVD.

Naruto OVA 1

Japanese Title: 紅き四つ葉のクローバーを探せ (Akaki Yotsuba no Kurōbā o Sagase)
In English: Find the Crimson Four-Leaf Clover

Konohamaru is in love with a girl, Yoshino Kaede, and he wishes to win her heart with a red four leaf clover, which is supposed to grant any wish. Konohamaru asks Uzumaki Naruto to help him find it, but they are attacked by marionettes in the forbidden zone, Akagahara. Haruno Sakura and Uchiha Sasuke appear to help, but still can't defeat them. At last, the marionettes shut off after Konohamaru lifts the sacred statue back to its original position. Konohamaru gives the clover to the Kaede, and she kisses him on his cheek. If this OVA were to go anywhere in the main series timeline, it would be after episode 19.

Naruto OVA 2

Japanese Title: 滝隠れの死闘　オレが英雄だってばよ! (Takigakure no Shitō Ore ga Eiyū Dattebayo!)
In English: Battle at Hidden Falls. I am the Hero!

This OVA is more action-oriented than the first one. In the beginning, Team 7 along with Hatake Kakashi escort a ninja to his home at the Hidden Waterfall Village. The ninja is a coward due to circumstances surrounding his father's death. The Hidden Village has a secret bottle of water hidden. The water imbues whoever drinks it with temporary increased chakra. The effects are similar to opening a "chakra gate" in that it can shorten lifespan as well. Five rouge ninja come to the village to steal the special water, and Team 7 may be their best defense. If this OVA were to go anywhere in the main series timeline, it would be after episode 80. But note that Sasuke is wearing his blue outfit in this OVA where in the main series he's wearing black.

Naruto OVA 3

Japanese Title: ついに激突！上忍VS下忍！！無差別大乱戦大会開催！！ (Tsuini gekitotsu! Jōnin tai Genin!! Musabetsu dairansen taikai kaisai!!)
In English: Finally a clash! Jōnin VS Genin!! Indiscriminate grand melee tournament meeting!!

This is included as an extra with the Naruto: Narutimate Hero 3 PlayStation 2 game.
