Eli David Marienthal (born March 6, 1986) is an American former child actor.
Personal life
Marienthal was born in Santa Monica, California, the son of Lola Marienthal, who manufactures bags made of organically grown cotton, and Joseph Cross, a journalist.[1][2] Marienthal is Jewish[3] and has two siblings, actors Harley Cross and Flora Cross.[4][5] After his parents' divorce, he lived mainly in Berkeley with his mother, though during the 3rd and 4th grades he spent some time in Paris with his father. Marienthal graduated from the private East Bay French-American Primary School,[1] where all the students learn to speak fluent French and attend classes in two languages. And then graduated from Berkeley High in 2004.
Marienthal's hobbies include writing slam poetry and participating in spoken word competitions, as well as boxing, skydiving, rock climbing and snowboarding.[citation needed]
Marienthal is a Brown University graduate of the Class of 2008.
Career
Marienthal's career started in Bay Area stage theater work, performing in Missing Persons, The Cryptogram, Hecuba, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Every 17 Minutes the Crowd Goes Crazy, and The Life of Galileo.
Marienthal is known for the role of Robin (Tim Drake) in the Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman animated movie, and in an episode of Static Shock. He replaced the previous voice actor, Mathew Valencia, because in these appearances, Robin was supposed to sound older than he had on the animated series. He played the title role of "Tucker Pierce" in the Tucker television series. He is also the voice of Hogarth Hughes in the 1999 film The Iron Giant and plays Steve Stifler's younger brother in the 1999 film American Pie and its 2001 sequel, American Pie 2. His last film role to date was in the teenage-oriented comedy, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, opposite Lindsay Lohan, as Sam.
