Welcome to my talk page. There are a few rules you need to follow so i can get your message clearly.

  • Please do not use computer speak, as i only know LOL which is laugh out loud or I.E., which is either That Is or For Example.
  • No need for visuals, as i am blind, and that would mess up my screen reader.
  • Please do not take any persistence the wrong way, i mean no harm, it's just who i am.
  • Don't critell me that my grammar is bad, as spelling and grammar is my week point. Note that you can correct names for me, i.e. Catherine in stead of Katherine, so on.
  • If i don't seem to understand something, please bare with me, and we will get along.
  • All policies count. No need to direct me to them, unless it is that important (keep in mind, we all need reminders once in a wile)
  • Don't tell me to create an account, because i've tried, and i don't wanna give my e-mail away.
  • Finally, Do not tell me not to use my nickname, unless you are the person i mention below,

Now I am not the only user who uses this computer, time after time, my friends will use it periodicly with my permission. Sometimes, not all posts by my IP are mine, they are my friends. Nicknames i use and you may use when refering to me are Nissae Isen's Man (If Nissae Isen herself has a problom, she may tell me, otherwise i wil continue to use it. Only nissae may ask me to stop as it is her that i'm refering to), or you can call me Spaceman204. Feel welcome, i want all people to be happy here.

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Wikipedia:Reference desk/Entertainment has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. The recent edit you made to Wikipedia:Reference desk/Entertainment constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. Hamtechperson 14:14, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! While we appreciate that you enjoy using Wikipedia, please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a social network. Wikipedia is not a place to socialize or do things that are not directly related to improving the encyclopedia, as you did at Wikipedia:Reference desk/Entertainment. Off-topic material may be deleted at any time. This message is not meant to discourage you from editing Wikipedia but rather to remind you that the ultimate goal of this website is to build an encyclopedia. Thank you. Also, your friend is not listed in the reliable sources guidelines, and don't alter the archives, as you did here. Ian.thomson (talk) 14:27, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You obviously have not read the reliable source guidelines, because your friend is not listed. It has nothing to do with you being an IP editor, it has to do with the reliable source guidelines. Your friend is not a published document that most of the editors can get ahold of, so he does not meet the verifiability guidelines. And if "my friend" does count as a reliable source, I can just say I have five friends that are insect experts (two of them bee-experts specifically), and twenty doctor friends that say your friend is wrong. See why we don't allow "my friend" as a source? Also, the topic is specifically "do people swallow spiders in their sleep," and at no point do bees come up. Ian.thomson (talk) 14:41, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to User talk:Ian.thomson. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. WAYNEOLAJUWON 14:43, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning; the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Wikipedia:Reference desk/Entertainment, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Ian.thomson (talk) 14:46, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ref Desk

Hi there 204.112.104.172. In this edit you accidentally reverted your own comment which I had already restored. Would you like me to add it back again, or do you want to do it? 94.102.149.162 (talk) 14:52, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How to convince us your friend is a reliable source

Get a university press or some other reliable publisher to publish a book by Mildred, and that book will qualify as a reliable source. Short of that, she's just some random person that noone here has any reason to trust. This is the internet. Anyone can say they know anyone, so we need books that anyone can get ahold of, not rumors and gossip. Ian.thomson (talk) 15:03, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. -- Ed (Edgar181) 16:15, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe they should have told me before, now some edgar guy has blocked me for a crime i didn't commit, vandelism. I cannot leave a message on his talk page, but can someone please tell him that he had no reason to block me? See below for full details. -- Nissae Isen's Man, 17:30, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

As explained immediately above, "If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first." If your screen-reader is having trouble with that, let me know (by saying so here). WikiDao(talk) 18:30, 11 November 2010 (UTC) (see next section WikiDao(talk) 18:34, 11 November 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Unfair block

Sorry i can't do the special text, as i am blind, and my screen reader does not pick up on this, so i am doing it the only way i know how. I was mearly trying to make a point on the ref desk that people were mearly misunderstanding. This block is unneeded because if they would have mentioned how to convince them earlier, this never would have happened. What i was mearly trying to tell people on the ref desk is that when digesting sertain incects after consumtion, it could harm the body potentialy. How is that vandelism or unconstructive? Please tell me. I meant absolutely no wrong in the matter. When Ian put that how to convince wikipedia that Mildred is reliable thing, that's what helped, but i didn't get a chance to thank him. I'm persistent, because that's who i am. Don't ever take my persistence the wrong way, it's part of who i am that i cannot change. --Nissae Isen's man, 17:23, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

I see your screen reader is having difficulty with the block notice. There is a template you can use to request an unblock. However, you should read the information at this link first: Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks. Would you like me to put the text above, or something else like it, into an "unblock" template for you? WikiDao(talk) 18:34, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please and thank you. I read the text already. That's how i came up with explaining what i was trying to do, thanks. -- Nissae Isen's Man, 18:45, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

(Okey-doke. Not sure exactly what difficult you are having on your end with doing this, or how this is going to work since I am making this edit, but here is your text in an unblock request template as requested.) WikiDao(talk) 19:18, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Decline reason:

Persistence is often taken as a violation of the WP:POINT guideline. Please be aware of that. Nevertheless, I have reviewed your edits. I agree that you were disruptive, so I am declining to unblock you. However, I feel that a 1 week block for a first offense is a bit excessive for an IP address, so I reducing it to 31 hours to give you a chance to peruse the relevant guidelines such as Wikipedia:Do not disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point and Wikipedia:Disruptive editing. ~Amatulić (talk) 23:13, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Response to unblock request (declined)

I agree that you were disruptive, so I am declining to unblock you. Since I understand you're having trouble with the unblock templates, I've copied the reviewing admin's response down here so it can be more easily read. If you do wish to appeal your block further, let's continue as you did there: post your appeal, and add the code {{helpme}} (that's two left curly brackets, the word "helpme", and two right curly brackets) above or below your post. Another editor will come by and put your request into an "unblock" template so that it can get the attention of an administrator. Hersfold (t/a/c) 23:18, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, i except. Is it true that if you digest bees the stinger can poke through your stomach wall and potentialy harm your body? -- Nissae Isen's Man.

Note that this may not be "a first offense", Amatulić (depending on who was running this IP the previous times it was blocked – was that you, too, "Nissae Isen's man"?). WikiDao(talk) 23:30, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I started around october, i believe it was late september. When was the previous block? -- Nissae Isen's Man, 23:34, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Have you been blocked before?
I included a link to the block log above; can your reader do links?
You say at the top of the page here "Sometimes, not all posts by my IP are mine, they are my friends." Some people have questioned whether those friends are really "real" or not, but I don't want to get into that because I don't know. But, could your "friends" have been responsible for the edits that resulted in previous blocks on this IP? WikiDao(talk) 23:40, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This edit says a lot [1] --CutOffTies (talk) 23:45, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So it is one of my friends that claimed he was being followed by some girl. He just made up the name. I didn't learn how to do the wikipedia thing until around mid september. Now i see what has been going on. Obviously my friend lied to me when he said he was just looking up strategies, he was vandelizing wikipedia. Thanks cut off ties! case cracked. -- Nissae Isen's Man, 23:48, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

If that has nothing to do with you, why do you say "I hereby declare this no and boyd, putting the annika thing behind me, she was a bad influence, all over." on October 8? [2] --CutOffTies (talk) 23:52, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What? Again, consider my friend made that edit, and Annika is the name of a character in a book he read in school. I just called him, and he will no longer be using my computer. It was him that tought me how to do the wikipedia thing. I also see that in that edit, it mentions spelling styles. My friend and i have similar writing styles, e-mails have been mistaken for me when they were my friend. I promis you he will never use my computer to mess around with wikipedia again. And if he sees this, then he knows that Wikipedia is not a place to go making up names and claiming stuff. He was on my computer in october, and he tried editing again without my knowledge. -- Nissae Isen's Man, 23:57, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

204.112 when this block expires please seriously consider creating an account for your editing. That way you can log in and log out when you personally leave the computer, so no-one else can appear to be you. I am really quite sure that vision-impaired editors can use the login interface as I am aware of others who do just that. This has gone on long enough, please register an account so that your edits can be identified apart from your so-called friends. Normally we don't insist on named accounts but you are taking up the time of other volunteers here and it is a simple solution, so please do try it and ask again here if you have problems. Franamax (talk) 00:12, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Because of a recent insadent, i feel uncomfertable giving my e-mail address out. You never know who could be out there. Can i create an account without an e-mail address? And would Nissae Isen's man work? -- Nissae Isen's Man, 00:18, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Yes, so far as I know you absolutely can register without giving an email address. In my opinion you're better off creating a separate email account for Wikipedia, say NissaeWikpedia .at. gmail.com. Lots of editors have accounts without email contacts though, so don't worry about it. User:Nissae Isen's man looks open, if it's not a swear-word in some language of which I am not aware, you're likely good to go. Franamax (talk) 01:30, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Note too that if you register an email address with your login information, it will never be disclosed to others unless you yourself send a message through the Wikipedia interface, or reply to someone else's email from Wikipedia email. We take privacy quite seriously here. Franamax (talk) 01:46, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ausom, thanks, tomorrow i will try again. thanks. -- Nissae Isen's Man, 02:16, 12 November 2010 (UTC) Do you think that was a smart move telling my friend he could no longer go on my computer because of what he has done to wikipedia? Do you suggest me doing something better for the next 24 or so hours? he's coming over tomorrow before the 24 hours is up, what do you suggest i do so he won't try it again, as he won't leave until 9 pm my time, which will probibly be after the block is up? -- Nissae Isen's Man, 02:25, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Switch off your computer. You will be able to hear if it is switched on again, isn't that a fairly distinctive sound? Alternatively, find better friends - if they are abusing your internet access, what kind of friends are they? Franamax (talk) 03:34, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

True, and true. Tonight i will try the account again. -- Nissae Isen's Man, 13:09, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Will i be notified when the block is up? I'm not sure what time it will be in Manitoba. -- Nissae Isen's Man, 22:49, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

The block was for 31 hours, set at 23:15 Universal Time last night, so you have 7 and a bit hours to go yet. If you click on the "User contributions" link to the left, you will be able to read the block notice. Actually it is at the top of this page too when you are editing it. When that notice no longer appears, you are no longer blocked. Franamax (talk) 23:08, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That will be at night, lucky it's friday. I wish i could ask the ref desk which episode of futurama it is where the president of earth is allected and it is the head of Nickson. Note that i only know the episodes by number i.e. 101, 102. Which episode is it i'm refering to? That's what i would like to know. The tables in the episode guide mix me up. -- Nissae Isen's Man, 23:44, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

what's with andy

Noone on the reference desk seems to want to answer this: Can someone please link me to some what's with andy episodes in english? i can only find them in greek or something like that. -- Nissae Isen's Man, 03:20, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Short answer: no. The editors here are volunteers. If they choose not to spend their time answering questions of yours, that is their privilege - and you have no particular standing to demand that anyone hurry up. If no-one answers your question, it's because no-one has taken an interest in your question. We are all volunteers here. Sorry, but that's the way it is. Franamax (talk) 06:26, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Creating an account

Given this IP's extensive issues that were claimed to be because of other individuals using the computer, what is the reasoning for the "reference desk aficionado" not creating an account? Please answer on this talk page. Thank you --CutOffTies (talk) 14:04, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've been working with them on that. Hi 204.112, I got your note on my talk page. Yes it does occur to me that the interface now wants you to put in a captcha for confirmation when you create an account. This is a piece of English text written very strangely in a graphic image, meant to be readable by humans but not robots. And yes, if you are using a screen-reader it wouldn't be able to "tell" you what the captcha code is. Some captchas give you the option to use an audio challenge instead, but I'm not sure if Wikipedia's do, since I haven't created an account for years.
I will look into a way to get you an account set up, but it will take a bit of time. I need to be sure that "Nissae Isen's Man" will be acceptable as a user name. I think it's OK but want to be sure. You can try again to set up an account and check if there's a way to get an audio "captcha" or hang tight 'til I figure out how to get you an account. Franamax (talk) 21:24, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually it looks like it will be simpler for you to just go through the standard process at Wikipedia:Request an account. This will take you to the Account Request form at our toolserver site, here: http://toolserver.org/~acc/ You will have to provide your email address in order to get your new password, but don't worry, it will be held in confidence. The whole process is set up to deal with the problem you are having. Franamax (talk) 21:32, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ausom, thanks. i'll be ready and checking my talk page. ausom. -- Nissae Isen's Man, 22:03, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Well let's be clear - I'm suggesting you use the form at http://toolserver.org/~acc/ to get an account. Everything after that will come through your email account, not on this talk page. You have to go request your account, and you will get an email back telling you it has been created and giving you an initial password so you can login as a registered editor. You have to go fill out that form and watch your email for the response. Franamax (talk) 22:19, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm still learning about the whole e-mail thing, i'll get to it as soon as i can (a few days). thanks. -- Nissae Isen's Man.

Done. -- Nissae Isen's Man, 19:06, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
