Amy Jackson (born 31 January 1991) is a British model and film actress, who has appeared in Indian feature films. Before starting her acting career, Jackson won the Miss Teen World competition in 2008, and also later finished third in Miss England 2010. She later went on to appear in the successful Tamil period-drama, Madrasapattinam, which won her plaudits for her role.
Early life
Born in the Isle of Man to Alan and Marguerita Jackson, she has an elder sister Alicia. The family returned to their parent's home of Knowsley, Liverpool, two years later so that her father could continue in his media career, where he is BBC Radio Merseyside's sports presenter. Jackson attended St. Edward's College, gaining 10 GCSEs, and then initially went onto Sixth Form to study English Language, English Literature and Philosophy and Ethics.[1]
Career
After winning the Miss Teen Liverpool and Miss Teen Great Britain pageants she won the contest Miss Teen World 2008.[2] Jackson won 18 various prizes, which included a modelling contract in the US, a wardrobe of clothes, cosmetics, shoes and a £10,000 scholarship.
Jackson signed a second modelling contract with Boss Model Management and modelled in India. This resulted in her appearance in the Kollywood as a female lead in Madrasapattinam opposite Arya. Released on 9 July 2010, the film was a huge hit of the year 2010. Now, Amy has replaced Trisha Krishnan in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa Hindi remake to be directed by Gautham Menon. With this Amy is entering in to Bollywood Industry.[3] movie is slated as 2011 Summer release.
