Kuthuparamba is an assembly constitution in Kerala legislative assembly.Thalassery is the nearest city. Kuthuparamba is an old town and capital of Pazhassi Raja of Kottayam Malabar, Kinavakkal also an ancient place near to Kuthuparamba and Karetta is the famous for its culture and diversity. Valiya Velichem (is the industrial hub built by KSIDC just 6 km from Kuthuparamba Town.
Kaithery Kappana and Kaithery Edam are 4 km away from the town. The famous temples Sree Ramapuram temple, Sree Kaithery Neela karingali, Sree Kaithery Edam temple are situated these places. Sree Thiruvenchira Kavu and Sree Kottaym temples are very near the town. Nitoor komath Bhagavathi Kavu is situated near by Municipal Head quarters
Geography
Kuttuparamba is located at 11°50′N 75°35′E / 11.83°N 75.58°E[1]. It has an average elevation of Template:M to ft. Kuthuparamba name derives from "kuthu" -a folk dance and "paramba" means ground; this is the place where art performance took place in the time of Pazhassi raja.
Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census[2], Kuthuparamba had a population of 29,532. Males constitute 47% of the population and females 53%. Kuthuparamba has an average literacy rate of 86%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 87%, and female literacy is 84%. In Kuhuparamba, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Politics
Kuthuparamba assembly constituency is part of Vadakara Lok Sabha constituency. The present MP of Vadakara Lok Sabha constituency is Shri. Mullapally Ramachandran Indian National Congress.[3]The present MLA of Kuthuparamba assembly constituency is Shri. P.Jayarajan of Communist Party of India (Marxist).[4]

Thalassery is the nearest railway station,thirteen km away from the town.Koothuparaba is a town en route Thalassery Coorg road.Nearest airport is at Kozhikode.
