Round Maple is a small hamlet in Suffolk, England. It is located near the larger hamlet of Mill Green, in the civil parish of Edwardstone.

Features

Round Maple has no amenities, the nearest pub is in Mill Green, the nearest church is in Edwardstone (and the nearest shops are in Boxford and Little Waldingfield).[1]

The hamlet contains two woods: Winding Wood is a privately owned wood in the Edwardstone Woods, a group of woodlands which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) nature reserve, it is classified as ancient woodland and has several footpaths. Langley Wood is located near the road towards Great Waldingfield, and is privately owned.[citation needed]

Geography

Round Maple is located on a minor road with a Y-junction for Mill Green between the villages of Great Waldingfield and Kersey. It is about a 1 hour drive from London Stansted Airport and about 70 miles away from London.

For transport there is the A1141 road and the B1115 road to the North, to the South there is the A1071 road, to the West there is the B1115 road and the A131 road, to the East there is the A1141 road.[6] The nearest railway station is Sudbury railway station (which is in the West), about a 15 minute drive.The nearest airport is London Stansted Airport, which is about a 1 hour drive away. Another nearby airport is Norwich Airport.
