: It is unlikley that the European Union would accept any petition from Doom for membership due to his human rights record. It is equally, if not more unlikely that Doom would subordinate Latverian (his) law to EU parliment decisions, accept EU immigration standards, or find any advantage in EU economic or trade accords. Because of Latveria's superior economy there would be little advantage to his entering the Common Market :) —Clarknova 07:11, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

:: True, but he might well see the advantage in having a universally recognised currency - it is possible to use the Euro as your national currency without being an EU member - Vatican City and several other states do it. Of course, even that might be too much like surrender to someone like Doom. On the other hand, he's not there anymore. Lokicarbis 12:06, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

It is unlikley that the European Union would accept any petition from Doom for membership due to his human rights record. It is equally, if not more unlikely that Doom would subordinate Latverian (his) law to EU parliment decisions, accept EU immigration standards, or find any advantage in EU economic or trade accords. Because of Latveria's superior economy there would be little advantage to his entering the Common Market :) —Clarknova 07:11, 18 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
