The Oberoi Trident tower became the tallest building in South Asia when it was completed in 1974, surpassing the 105m(345ft) tall Express Towers Mumbai, also located in Mumbai.[2] Express Towers was surpassed as South Asia's tallest building two years later my Oberoi Trident Towers, at 117m(383ft)[1]. Both buildings, along with the Air India Building were built in the then new business district of Nariman Point.
