The Hope-Calvin rivalry is a college sports rivalry between the Hope College Flying Dutch and the Calvin College Knights which participate at the NCAA Division III level.[1][2]

In 2005, ESPN polled its staff about what they thought were the nation's greatest college basketball rivalries, and the Calvin–Hope rivalry was voted fourth in all college basketball.[3]

The men's basketball teams first played each other in 1920.[4] Through January 2011, the men's basketball teams have played 178 times, with the Hope Flying Dutch leading with 91 wins to the Calvin Knights' 87 wins.[5]

In women's basketball, Calvin leads Hope in the series 62-37 through January 2011.[6]
