Carl McKever Jr. was born on November 10, 1988 at Broward General Hospital (located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida) at 2:00am to the parents of Angela McKever and Carl McKever Sr. He has been writing poetry since the age of 16 and all of his poems have been published and copyrighted in the International Library of Poetry. One of his first poems ever written was “Best Friends” in February 2005. He is known as the 2009 Florida State Poetry Ambassador and started a poetry club at his recent school, called the Surf and Verse Poetry Club. His personal goals are to graduate from ITT Technical Institute with an Associate of Science degree and acquire CompTIA Network+, A+, and Linux+. He plans on becoming a certified network administrator. |

After graduating from ITT Technical Institute in December 2009, he will be transferring to DeVry University in January 2010; majoring in Technical Management. He plans on obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree there. |

McKever writes poetry for personal reflections and self-introspection. He writes poems dealing with his past and to relieve inner pain from bad, past relationships. His poetic purpose is for the reader to grasp the true meaning of every poem and inspire them to press on for better in life; despite all obstacles and circumstances. |

Carl McKever graduated from ITT Technical Institute in December 2009 with an Associate of Science degree in Information Technology. Upon graduation, he enrolled and was admitted to DeVry University in January 2010; majoring in the Bachelor of Science degree program for Technical Management. He has written up to 35 poems since last year and his plans for 2011 are to publish 46 poems into a book of poetry by September 2011. He is currently working on his autobiography for publication in July 2012. Carl is now a SAN Disk Administrator at IBM. |

McKever attends Dubuque Church of God as a loyal member and will be returning to his ministerial studies in June 2011. He has been known as a web administrator for the last 4 years; creating websites for the Florida State Poets Association (FSPA), Dubuque Church of God, Lighthouse Point Outreach Ministries, and CRM Inspirational Voices. He is also an official member of the Iowa Poetry Association (IPA) and was nominated in January 2011 as an Area Representative for Dubuque County. |
