Brezovica; (Serbian Cyrillic: Брезовица) or (Template:Lang-al) is a village in Štrpce municipality in Kosovo[a], that is famous for its ski resort.
The Brezovica ski resort is a famous tourist attraction in the northwest part of Šar Mountain. It is a unique sport - recreation complex between 900 m and 2,500 m above sea level.
The relatively high level of precipitation and the water-resistant rocks result in a dense network of rivers, rich wells and surface water.
There is a combination of mild valley climate in the lower parts and true Alpine climate in the higher regions. Favorable climate conditions make this center ideal for winter, summer, sport, recreation tourism, so there are tourists during whole year.
Wide ski terrains of the Ski Centre Brezovica are made of a system that includes: 5 chair lifts and 5 ski lifts, connected with 16 km of ski slopes of the average length 3,000 meters. On Brezovica FIS slopes for slalom, giant slalom, downhill race and “Super G” simultaneously could ski 50,000 skiers.
The structure of the snow is such that the ski slopes are very fast. The number of successfully organized national and international competitions have included the Belgrade-owned Inex ski center Brezovica among famous international competition centers. A number of sport teams come to work on their summer trainings for the sport’s competitions in ideal high mountain conditions.
