I question the scanty mention of the Kalanga people they seem to have been the builders of the Mapungubwe empire which led to the development of the Great Zimbabwe. More details of the connection between the Kalanga culture in art and pottery should shed more light on the development and growth of the the Great ruins and their connection to the smaller less majestic ruins to the west of Zimbabwe. |

Date of beginning and end
There is some contradiction between dates in the text (1684-1834) and dates in the box (1660-1834).
Which one is it exact?
I think the beginning is in 1660, since the "Mutapa" article says Rozwi made Mutapa vassal in 1663.
About the end I don't know if Matabele needed few years or thirty years to overrun Rozwis.
